@orchidblooms:  I haven’t tried, but having people to be accountable to is definitely key.

Have you tried group training?  Would that be an option for you?  It’s usually cheaper than traditional one on one training

@orchidblooms:  Hmmm well I would say it is probably better than nothing but there really isn’t any substitute for one on one physical interaction with a trainer. I would ask around and see if anyone else has had success with an online trainer before you commit to a ten week period.

Have you looked into Crossfit? It is a small group within the exercise rotation that is typically a 3 to 1 ratio at the max. It is basically like having your own trainer with options to do nutrition talks, fitness challenges etc.  I pay $59.00 a month so not too much more than what you would pay for the trainer.

@orchidblooms:  Most Crossfits I know of will allow you to do three sessions for free as a trial. Definitely ask. I can’t see them expecting you to plunk down the money without giving it a trail run!

@Treejewel19:  Think that might be just your box. I’ve never been to one that has so few people per instructor (unless the class wasn’t fully booked) and they also can be quite expensive. The one near my parents house (in NY) was around $200 a month. Mine was the equaivalent of about $120.

@orchidblooms:  If you’re interested in trying CF out, you need to do your homework when it comes to picking a box because some of the instructors really don’t know what they’re doing. If they don’t have some sort of set onboarding program for new members, run far far away.

Can you join some sort of club? I’m a member of a local triathlon club and we’ve got a ton of training options available to club members during the week. It’s good accountability once you get going and get to know the coaches and other people.

@orchidblooms:  My husband did that and LOVED it!  It worked great for him and he really got in shape!
