Is anyone else totally annoyed with their pregnancy farts? Everything I eat sends my stomach/intestines into a gassy mess. Usually it just feels uncomfortable, but apparently at night all hell breaks loose.
This mornings conversation:
SO: you ruined my morning meditation (he was joking around, he is most certainly not a meditator)
Me: what did I do?
SO: from the time the alarm went off at 5:30 until I got out of bed at 5:50 you were farting constantly!
Me: Really? I didn’t feel it
SO: you were sleep farting.
Me: It was the baby
SO: the baby doesn’t fart yet.
Me: well, I am farting for two, I can’t help it. (I start laughing and let out a huge fart by mistake!!!! ugh!)
SO: (shaking his head and laughing) you are so disgusting.
Thank goodness we are two very open people who are not bothered by that stuff and he is a man who lets them rip all the time and I just laugh about it.

@JustMe12182: that conversation would have my laughing like a 12 year old boy!

Sadly, it never got better for me after baby. OH – and the farting that happens (or at least happened to me) when I was in labour and had my epidural was REDICULOUS. So embarrasing. :/

@JustMe12182: lol DH and I are very open about that too, this is something that would happen to us haha
this is hysterical

@JustMe12182: Yep, totally me. I am constantly farting, DH even (not seriously) complained at my OB appointment (he was there with me) AND at the last u/s… Sometimes I don’t even feel it anymore. I am afraid of the day on which I will fart loudly in public or at work and won’t notice it. Hahaha.

I still don’t fart (loudly) in front of my husband. Since becoming pregnant I am constantly gassy but have become the master at keeping them quiet. Now when I am sleeping I’m sure that is a different story but DH sleeps like a rock and always falls asleep before me so I’m not too worried.
In a related story, I blame a lot of things on the baby. I had a craving for chips and onion dip. I finished the tub of dip in 2 days. He asked where all the dip went. I told him his baby wanted it. He gave me the funniest look. I was only about 5-6 weeks at the time 🙂

I’ve got IBS, which has really eased up since I became pregnant so I’m noticing a decrease on my gas! YAY!! But, I warned my husband when I’m sleeping and have no control of things it’s fair game and I cannot be held accountable! hahaha

Oh my goodness, yes. This is so terrible for me. I do NOT fart loudly in front of people! Not even my husband! So this has been a struggle. I don’t want to fart a ton during labor 🙁 Ahh can I just take some gas X before I deliver? That would be awful for me.

“farting for two”
THIS. It’s terrible! I don’t even bother trying to hold it in around my hubs anymore.

@JustMe12182: I had a near identical conversation with DH the other day! I have remarked a few times that I just far constantly when I wake up but he always sleeps through it. Well, the other night I fell asleep and he was up late. The next day:
DH: So I was up last night, and I realized what you were saying.
DH: About the farting. You were just farting up a storm in your sleep. It was intense.
Me: OMG. I’m sorry.
DH: It’s cool.
Me: I’m glad it happens when I’m home. I’m really worried about later because I can’t handle that out in public. I don’t understand how a baby the size of a sweet pea makes so much gas.
DH: Silly baby.

Hahah I hear you. I fart like a teenage boy but not on purpose. WTF?! DH has stopped apologizing for his farts cause mine are just as bad. I don’t even want to know what its like in my sleep. The stinky ones are the worst. Gah

I was pretty farty before pregnancy, so the level of fartage is about the same, but man, the discomfort, UGH. And my ass is a bit fatter now, so they resonate more. And smell like dead garbage… that’s the worst part. 🙁 🙁 🙁

Pregnancy gas is pretty bad. I also burp like a college frat boy.

oh my gosh too funny! This defintiely made me laugh and as I am hopefully a few years off from this I don’t have anything to contribute but I’m sure when the time does come I’ll be pretty gasy too!
