I am considering having OOT bags for my guests. Do hotels normally charge a fee to distribute these at check-in? What about leaving them in the rooms?

I will ask the hotel, of course, but I want to be prepared in case I need to negotiate.

    Thanks!

Our hotel had our OOT bags at the desk at check in and gave one to each person from the block as they checked in. There was not a charge.  There was the option to have each bag delivered to the guest's room @ $3 each but we were fine with the hand-out at check-in.

My hotel is the same as Surgie's.  We are just going to leave the bags at the check-in desk to avoid the delivery fee.

I had a room block at a hotel that said there was a $3 fee per bag, which wasn't a big deal to me because we're not having that many guests and i was just happy to find a reasonably priced hotel. nevertheless, i contacted the hotel later and asked if we could get rid of the bag fee because of budget reasons (i pleaded my case) and they were fine with it.

Friends I've known haven't had to pay to have OOT bags put in hotel rooms, but I wouldn't be surprised if some hotels did. Personal preference: I really like the personal touch of having the OOT bags in the hotel rooms rather than giving them out at the desk.

My hotel charges $3 to deliver them to the room and $2 to have them at the front desk for check in. I think thats pretty standard in most metropolitan areas. You could always have a family member hand them out individually or at an event like the rehearsal dinner too, if you don't want to pay the fee.

My hotel charges $3 to deliver them to the rooms.  Now that I see this board, I'm going to try to negogiate a no charge, after all, our wedding ceremony and reception will be held there and ALL my guests will be staying there as will!  So with all that business I hope they can work something out.

I think our venue {which is a beach town, so it's not a true hotel, it's all cottages} charges around $5 per bag. I'm sure I'll do it, because when you check in, your cottage might not be ready yet and I don't want them to have to lug it around. They also give everybody a bottle of wine at check-in, so they already have that. The rental company that rents out all the houses has a swag bag in each house as well, so my guests will be getting a lot of good stuff. :) It'll be like the Oscars!
