I will be doing 1 OOT bag/room. I was thinking those cotton totes you can find online for like $3.50. Like this: http://jiffyshirts.com/bags/tote/libertybags/7002/?cst=BLUE&idcust=724026758
BUT, I saw these today at the Container Store (picture below).
They are not really beach totes, but most of our guests are really beach tote people. I’m thinking that these will fold up smaller and I find grocery totes more useful anyway… and they are probably higher quality. BUT, is is really weird to use a grocery tote as an OOT bag?
I don’t need them to hold a lot… Here is what i’ll be putting in them:
*bottle of wine or liquor (resort is not all-inclusive and our friends will love this)
*Mug/water bottle for each guest + couple bottles of H2O
*Map of Cabo, itinerary, list w/ names & picture of guests, thank you note from us, etc

I love those and if I received one I would use it more often than a beach tote. In any case, the flowers on it look very beachy to me so it can serve dual-purpose. Besides, your guests will probably already have a beach tote packed so yours will only be extra. I was thinking of going the same route (grocery bag) since none of my guests live close to a beach so the tote will rarely be used.

That’s what I was thinking too… and I meant to say that our guests *are not* beach tote people.

I’m doing grocery totes as OOT bags, I figure our guests will get more use out of them and they’re environmentally friendly.

I did grocery totes as OOT bags too. They were a fail, but not because of the bag by any means. BTW, in case you care Michaels and Toys R Us were the places were I found the cutest grocery totes.
