So our reception venue is giving us the option of an open bar or a running tab. The open bar is $25 a head and includes 4 hours plus 1/2 bottle of wine per person at dinner. My issue with this is that our reception is running from 5:30pm until about 1am, so that only covers us until about 11:30pm. That means we either have to close the bar, and the party will end early, or we have to pay per drink after that. If we do the running tab they’re throwing in 65 free bottles of wine (105 guests). The average drink costs $5 and the most which is only premium liquor is $8. We don’t have a heavy drinking crowd, which is why I’m leaning towards the running tab. What do you guys think?
