Engagement chicken is really yummy! It took about 2 years for it to work on FI, but it worked eventually. In the meantime, enjoy the chicken and hopefully your SO will take the hint faster than mine :)
OMG E-chicken is the best meal EVER! I made it back in late January, I think lol. I think it kind of started working since that is when BF and I decided to start looking and saving for a ring, sooo yea. GOOD LUCK REN!
I need to try this chicken out on my guy too!! Good luck!! Keep us posted! :)
this post made me giggle - since this is how i normally make chicken i guess it worked on FH.... so good luck :)
This is really funny! Let us know if/when it works!!! Waiting for your update! :)
Ladies I will keep you posted!!
Mermaid.., Im sure we can all put our heads together and think of a vegi way to make something similar :D
@mermaideve - engagement tofu? :)
i honestly think its not the recipe itself but that men are suckers for women who can cook a la 1950 - no one cooks full birds anymore. and its very true the way to a man's heart is his stomach - so anything that gives off that home cooked "i made this in pearls while vacuuming" will probabaly do the trick too :)
I don't know, I've cooked for my FI a lot (including multiple Thanksgiving dinners with turkeys), but 2-3 weeks after making engagement chicken he proposed totally out of the blue! I actually completely forgot about the chicken thing until after we had been engaged for a few days. Could be a total coincidence, but I thought it was really funny!
I made engagement chicken about 3 months before my FI proposed....who knows? maybe it really is magic lol
LOL it probably wouldnt hurt. LMAO!!! but in all seriousness - i think its just showing that you are "capable" that really gets the guy to commit. to see you less of a girlfriend and more of a long term companion. i know it sounds old fashioned but i honestly think thats why it works LOL
Question: My second date w/ Mr.TKE was a picnic with lemony chicken in his frat's backyard...I proposed to him 9 months later. Does that mean his chicken to me was e-chicken?

So I just got some awesome news from the SO. He was planning on surprising me.. but decided to tell me today (because of a small breakdown I had last night where I told him I was getting really frustrated with him telling me we will see each other again very soon and there is no definite date on when) that he is coming in for Memorial weekend! He bought the ticket a month ago and was originally planning on calling my mother and having her or my step dad pick him up at the airport.
So this is what I've decided.. I have been waiting for the chance to make the "engagement chicken" and here is my chance. He will be here on Wed. and isnt leaving until the following tuesday.. Here's to hoping ladies!!
P.S.
