We are having two ushers and an usherette. The usherette is planning to wear a long, black dress that she wore in another wedding. I have no problem with her re-wearing a dress, but I’m starting to think it won’t look right if the bridesmaid dresses are short. What do you think?

Would the bridesmaids and usherette ever be standing together?
We have ushers, but I’m not going to have them in the wedding party pictures, so the ushers and groomsmen will never really be in the same place at the same time, so it doesn’t matter if they match or not.

I don’t really think it would matter. If she’s not standing up there with y’all, I’m sure no one will even notice!

No one will mistake the female ushers for bridesmaids (despite the fact that groomsmen often act as ushers). It really doesn’t matter if the dresses are different lengths or styles and this is something only you will care about during the planning. On the day of, you won’t care or even notice.

It makes sense for her to wear a dress she already has, since she’s not part of the bridal party. If the ushers are wearing black, it’ll look nice that she is too.

Ehh, if she is with the ushers, maybe her dress should be the same length as the ushers’ pants.
