@luckystar77: My thought is that you’re going to get a lot of compliments on your ring. Beautiful!

It all depends on what *you* want.
I asked my FI to pick out a solitaire because I’ve never been very ‘blingy’ and just wanted a simple, elegant look. So for *me* it would be a bit much.
But it’s not *my* ring! It’s yours. 🙂 So if you think it’s fine, then it’s fine. If you’re convinced you’d like something a little simpler, perhaps discuss having your stone reset into a smaller setting with your FI.
If you go back where he bought it, they’ll probably be happy to exchange the setting for you, and a simpler setting might be less expensive, so your FI might save a bit of money.
Just make sure it’s what YOU want!

@luckystar77: I love your ring! I never used to think I was a huge fan of halo settings until I was on here. That ring is gorgeous. If you like it, keep it! It’s very elegant

Normally I am NOT a halo fan, but this ring is actually GORGEOUS! I would wear this halo 🙂
I would agree with PPs that in the end, it’s your ring and you have to love it. But I guarantee you will be getting lots of compliments on your ring!

I think its beautiful and I normally don’t like halos! Its up to you, if your not happy with it talk to your SO about changing the setting to a solitare. However it really is a beautiful, classic looking ring. Congrats!
