I am a nanny and for my ring bearer I am having the 3 year old little boy that I have cared for since he was a newborn.
This little guy is ALL BOY… he’s very rough and tumble and loves trucks, diggers, and sports.
I was looking for ring bearer pillows and came across this unique ring carrier on etsy:
I thought it was really adorable and absolutely perfect for him. We were planning on having our Calligrapher write on the inside of the truck something like “Thanks for being a part of our special day” or something and having it double as his gift. I think he would love it!
My mom absolutely hates the idea and thinks it will look really out of place. She said she thinks everyone will be distracted by it and talking about why he has a toy truck and it will take away from the ceremony: i think thats a little over dramatic but she still has me second guessing.
What do you think?

I think people get too uptight about having everything look “proper” and sometimes it makes them forget about what a wedding day is supposed to feel like. Every time I see a couple do something interesting like this, I always notice how much everyone (myself included) LOVES it. Even if it is distracting, it will be in a good way, and that little boy and his parents will be so thrilled.
I think you should definitely do it. It will show them that you thought carefully about their involvement in your wedding, and your guests will appreciate the added touch of humanity you put into your wedding. Trust me. I have been to a lot of weddings and never once heard anyone say “Well, that’s was weird”.

Go for it!

Love it. The room will fill with “Awwwwwwwwww……”s when he walks down the aisle with that. I don’t know what your mom is talking about!!
One thing that concerns me though–since he is only 3 I would be a bit worried about him turning the truck over and the rings spilling off of that. You may want to rig up some wire or a ribbon to tie across those two posts to keep the rings from potentially slipping off.
Otherwise, it’s adorable!

I think it’s adorable! Just make sure the rings are nice and secure, and everyone will love it 🙂
