I posted about my Dressily me dress awhile back, that I was going to wear my big old ball gown for my elopement wedding. Alterations came to be like $250 after it was all said and done and that felt silly to me. So I decided to go with something more simple, as people had suggested and I’m totally ok with that, I will just sell the replica dress.
Please keep in mind I’m not going for which looks the most “bridey” just the one that looks best on me and will be appropraite based on what my girls are wearing and the location/ casualness of it.
We are getting married in 3 weeks, under a gazebo outside with just the 3 kids, our 2 witnesses required by law, and our ordained minister performing the ceremony. Which dress? We are cool with super casual (obviously based on the dresses you will see 🙂
This one obviously with a strapless bra 😉
The dresses my girls are wearing:
Also– any idea what flowers I can get to match the girls dresses? I want to make small little bouquets and probably tie them with rattan (instead of silk like this pic) but don’t know what would match these colors…..

#2!! It REALLY works your shape!

The first dress wins hands down, IMO. It is the most ‘bridal’ of them all, and even tho it’s a very small intimate ceremony, you still deserve to look and feel like a bride!!
I am NOT a fan of #3 at all. IMO it looks like a beach coverup or something.

I will feel “bridey” no matter what really– I am very excited to marry this wonderful man 🙂

dress 1 100%, looks fantastic on you!

I think dress three is more matchy with what the girls are going to be wearing, however it is not the most flattering on your body. Dress one and two are very flattering, but I think that number two might be a little too formal based on what the girls will be wearing. So I picked nimber one 🙂

Yeah, my concern is that #1 and #2 are too formal looking even though they definitely show off my curves (not sure how I feel about that either!)

@aquaelle: I voted 1. 3 is way too casual looking, completely see through. Maybe if you could find a strapless nude slip to wear underneath or a nude bustier paired with a slip. 1 just looks good on you. If you wanted to dress down 1 you could wear your hair down and find some more casual flats.

@aquaelle: I think #2 looks best on your body. It’s very flattering. However, #1 is the only one that looks like a *wedding* dress to me. I think #3 is far too casual. I would wear that to a summer picnic. You have a great body but dress #1 just doesn’t do you justice.

I like #1 but I think it is a bit short for the occasion so I voted for #2. #3 looks like it is for the beach or vacation as a cover-up dress.
I think it probably looks more like a cover up too because my straps are showing, oops! I didn’t have a strapless bra with me when I tried it on.

I love dress #2 on you. 🙂

At first I thought #1 was the best, hands down. #2 just looks like you’re going to a cocktail party.
I think styled right, though, #3 is going to be your best bet for such a small, outdoor ceremony. The picture makes it look drab, but I’m sure with your hair hair done, shoes, and some jewelry, it will look GREAT with what the other girls are wearing!
