I LOVE the idea of a jukebox!  Makes me think of old times, choosing your favorite songs.

DJ.. you need someone to sort of emcee the night and make sure your timeline runs smoothly.

    Jukebox all the way 🙂

Appoint key people in your family or circle of friends to “Emcee” if it’s even needed. I plan to have my brother announce when we’ll be cutting the cake. Someone else (perhaps my MOH) will let guests know when we’re going to play the Shoe Game, etc. etc.

    It’ll be fine 😛

I’d be concerned about one person taking it upon himself to “controll” the jukebox, basically telling it to play a bunch of crappy music in a row.

I like the idea of Jukebox! I think you can just make sure it has good options in it. I’m probably not having a DJ either – worked at too many clubs when I was younger lol.

Now that I see your update about the control over music on the jukebox, I’d say go for it, IF you have someone to emcee or guide people and a sound system for that and toasts, plus you’d need someone ‘in charge’ of the jukebox to make sure there’s no gaps between people choosing songs, etc

@DeeWee:  Oh perfect.  That sounds cool, then.  I was initially going to go with an iPod but I was just too worried about the flow of things.  But it sounds like your setup is kinda a hybrid of the two!

@DeeWee:  i’d go the DJ – nothing like a bit of personality in the music 🙂
