A month before our wedding?
My Fiance and I have to travel from Toronto to London, England for the wedding of a good friend of mine. That wedding is on Oct 26th. Our wedding is on November 30th in Toronto.
Fiance and I are thinking of flying to London on the 24th, and then taking the train to Paris on the 29th, and then flying back home on Nov 2nd.
Is it too crazy to travel for 10 days so close for our wedding? Our RSVP deadline is Oct 18th, so hopefully we’d have all of those in by the time we leave.
What do you think?

I would make a list of all the things you’ll need to do before the wedding, and then analyze it to see if you can do all of them in the time you’ll have left if you take the trip. Personally, I would go — looking back, there was nothing to do for the wedding until about four days before. However, I had a lot of family support, and was calm about getting married in general.

As long as things are done or have a plan to be accomplished, go and have fun! You dont want the trip to add stress, but be a way to relieve stress and enjoy yourselves.

DO IT! It sounds like the pefect breather before final preparations. Get away and let your hair down for ten days. It will be amazing!

@MsGolightly: 28 days (between 2nd and 30th November) is a long time to take care of any last minute things if needed. Do aim to take care of most things before you do go though, just in case any of your vendors need any longer than 28 days to adjust to any changes… other than that… It’s LONDON! GO!

@MsGolightly: I’d do it- no qestion! I had a lot of non-wedding things going on the month of the wedding. I went to Texas for 4 days, ran the Tough Mudder (which also meant hosting friends for a weekend), and I feel like I did something else right around the 1 month mark but I can’t remember.
You’ll be fine! It’s probably a good thing to take a break from wedding stuffs, otherwise that’s all you focus on and that can make some people crazy.

GO GO GO!! I would for sure if money allowed it and since i’ve always wanted to visit london atleast once! Like the other bees said it’s always nice to have a little breather before the big day. If you do decide to go, have a safe trip and i hope you have lots of fun!

GO! I don’t think it’s *that* close to the wedding. We had last minute details to tie up but they were truly last minute details, they couldn’t be done 4 weeks before the wedding.

@peachacid, @ThreeMeers, @MissTatas, @ksus07, @RunsWithBears, @kerpao, @MrsBeck:
Thank you for your feedback! You have all made me feel sooo much better. I took a look at our payment deadlines and general task timelines and everything seems doable.
I thought we’d be crazy to think about doing this but you’ve given me the confidence to go ahead! And now we’re really excited 😀
