So I plan on wearing a birdcage veil and flower fascinator. I'd like to wear it for the ceremony and then remove the veil and just wear the flower for the reception. However, we're going to do our first look, then all or most of our bridal party and family portraits before the ceremony. Would it be weird to wear the veil in all of my formal portraits? I ask because I planned on having my hairdresser put the veil on - I'm not sure if my BMs or mom will be able to figure it out right before the ceremony.

If anyone has pics of birdcage veils in formal portraits, that would be awesome.

@iheartnerds: How much of your face is covered by the veil? From a photographer's point of view, the birdcage can cast some serious shadows on your face depending on the time of day and it may hide your eyes/smile during large formal portraits. It's great for close up photos, first look, etc but unless it just comes down over your forehead or part of your face I think you may end up wishing you didn't have it on for those family/larger group photos.

I love the look of the birdcage veil! What if you leave it on for half of them? Or would that be too complicated?

I like the idea of some with, some without, but my concern is not being able to get the veil on again for the ceremony. It's kind of an annoying veil to put on and I'm not sure my mom or MOH will be able to do it.

It won't cover much of my face. It will be angled to one side.
