I’d put in some small non-wedding-related things; after all, this gift is a thankyou for their being in your wedding, and shouldn’t be focused on things they will use for the wedding.  Small bottles of perfume, an inexpensive ring or bracelet, a nice pen, stuff like that.  Chap-stick and tissues are nice touches but it’s a lot harder to get excited over a very practical gift; it’s like getting white tube socks for christmas. Spoil them a little bit. Maybe a $10-20 starbucks gift card, or a groupon for a mani/pedi would be a nice touch that doesn’t  break the bank.  Restaurant.com is a great place to get cheap restaurant gift certificates; they usually do a few sales each year with even better discounts, like pay $5 for a $25 certificate and there are a ton of choices in most cities.

Some of my little gifts are lip gloss, small bottle of wine, a cute wine topper, cute nail files, chocolates..
