The dress has not been made yet, but will be started on in the next couple months. Here’s the details…
This general style: This neckline:
Made from this fabric (which honestly looks a lot more ivory in person):
My favorite color is lavender, which I would definately like to incorporate into my details. I’ve also got a elbow length-ish ivory veil, and fingerless glovelets. Hoping to wear my hair half up/down. My rings are white gold with clear, pink, and lavender stones.
Lovely Bees, do you think this necklace would work with such an ensemble?http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DDKT6U/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=jewelry&psc=1I have a friend who says she could make it for me for a bit cheaper, so I’d probably have the pearls in cream instead of white, and possibly a lighter purple crystal. If I wore that, I’d wear simple pearl studs in my top ear holes, and simple silver (or white gold) studs with small matching purple Swarovski drops for the lower holes.
Right now, I’m fairly fixed on that necklace. Nothing else has jumped out and grabbed me quite as much. It’s hard for a bride to go wrong with pearls, and I love that it’s got sparkle without being too gaudy. In your opinions, would this be a pretty good bet, or do you have more possible ideas I absolutely must see? I do NOT dress up very often, so I honestly don’t even know what’s out there. 🙂

I think the necklace will be a very good match!

as long it’s kept fairly short, like 16-18″, that necklace will definitely work.

Great dress. Is that from Whirling Turban? Their stuff is fantastic. Since you like lavender, I would go for an amethyst pendant. And that open neckline is just screaming for a gorgeous pendant. And maybe matching earrings?

I think it would work. The other option would be to do a ‘T’ shaped sort of thing with the same beads (pearls + lavender). Either way, I’m sure you’ll look great!

When I was reading your post I thought you’d written “elbow length lavender gloves”! I laughed and then thought, actually that would be totally cool with that dress! Anyway, I don’t know if that’s your style.
This dress totally calls for a unique veil. If not a birdcage maybe something like this

I was definately planning to keep it a short necklace.
Yes, that is a Whirling Turban dress! If I didn’t have sticker shock, I’d just go ahead and buy one from them. But I do like the idea that mine will be completely custom. 🙂 Definately matching earrings. Small ones, though.
You know, as nice as I think the “T” shaped necklaces are, I can never get used to wearing them myself. They just bug me. Pity, because yeah, I do think that would be another nice option.
Holy cow, that is a neat veil! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like that. Because my dress actually has a pattern on it, I was thinking of going simple with the veil. Right now I have a plain ivory chiffon one on order. My mom thinks I should have it embellished with a few crystals or pearls around the edges, but I’m not sure yet. The money I saved my ordering it on Etsy will more than be enough to add stuff to it later, if I think it would look alright. As it is, I’m having second thoughts about shortening it, or getting a longer one. At the moment, I think I’ll just wait until the dress starts coming together, then see what the whole ensemble looks like, before I go making anymore veil decisions. 🙂
I do have plans to also make a matching barette to go just above the veil, if I end up with that necklace. Just the same pearls/crystals, scattered and wired on, maybe with ribbon to cover the barette itself.

I think it will look stunning!
