@Gemma_Leigh:  I voted for the last option.  Lace is gorgeous.  I love it.  It’s part of who I am personality wise.  I would never pick something that didn’t represent vintage/older times.  So, that being said, I dislike the modern looks.  It’s your wedding. I really think you should stick to your personality and what fits you best.  Stand out.

I felt the same way you did.  I never thought I liked lace dresses until I fell in love with the perfect dress! I have no regrets about buying it.  It still has a modern feel to it and I can’t see myself in another dress. You have time so look around and if you don’t see anything else you love as much, then go for it ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve always loved lacy lingerie; and my favourite LBD for the past several years has been a black-lace-with-nude underneath.

    To me: lace is sexy.

I love lace…like, love, love, love, but if it doesn’t feel right, then it’s probably not for you!

I LOVE my lace dress and it was actually something i was looking for in a gown. But I also made sure my dress had some “modern” touches like the feathers.

@Gemma_Leigh:  Wow! That dress is stunning. I thought that the shape and back gave it a modern twist.

(I’m probably not the best person to give advice – I love lace! )

Mine is lace, but at the same time it has very modern aspects- like the fact it is a short dress. Designers are actually squeezing in more and more short styles in every collection. The bubble hem and the waist detail are modern styles. I’m not trying to persuade you or anything, I’m just saying that modern and lace can be well incorporated.

I think it’s important that a dress suits your personality. You have plenty of time and not being sure whether you’re just going through a lace phase, maybe you should wait a little while?

In a nutshell, my opinion on lace is this: it’s really romantic and girly, and a safe choice (not a bad thing). I nearly opted for a lace number myself, but 99% of brides lately are wearing lace and I can’t stand being same old, same old iykwim.

I absolutely LOVED my lace dress, and I love lace so much that it’s rare I find a lace dress that I don’t like, but that is also my personality. I’ve always loved lace and always will, and I couldn’t imagine not wearing a lace dress because it is so me. I think lace dresses are classic and timeless, and if you found one that you absolutely love (and you really do need to LOVE it) then I say go for it!

But… you have a lot of time, so I would hold off on purchasing it for awhile.  The wait will either make you love it more, or make you realize that it was just a passing trend for you, so either way you can’t go wrong. Take it from me… do not jump into buying dress unless you know for sure you love love love it.
