Opinions on my bathroom baskets

That’s probably more in-depth than what I have at home. Do people actually use bathroom baskets? I’ve never ever had the need for one at a wedding, or any event, really. Also, the one chapstick? How are they going to use that? Back in high school we’d “share” chapstick by rubbing it on our fingers and then our lips, but that’s so completely unsanitary. If you’re not going to have a chapstick for everyone, I’d take it out.

I might consider adding pocket tissues.

Hyperventilate:  I agree. sometimes i think they are a bit overboard.

However, I have used headache pills from one before. And sometimes I’ll go look for mints or gum.

vip0802:  I agree on the single tube of chapstick and, to some extent, the deodorant stick. No matter how badly I need deodorant, I’m not using that thing if someone else has already. Spray deodorant might be a better choice.

What about a tiny sewing kit? In case someone’s zipper or button breaks?

I think it’s a nice idea, but like everyone else said, if I’m going to need deodorant, I’m not going to use the same stick everyone else used, same with the Chapstick.  Generally ChapStick people have theirs with them anyway 🙂

Jen041815:  Agree on the sewing kit!  Back in the day at my sisters wedding I was MOH and after a few glasses of wine I reached across the table over an open candle.  It burned my dress pretty good (it was teal chiffon) but luckily thanks to a sewing kit and rouching in the dress we were able to stitch it up and hide the burns!

I always have chapstick and headache pills on me (But I come prepared since I am prone to headaches, especially migraines) so maybe these boxes are lost on me. Just further expanding upon my first comment, if I need something (Sans sewing kit, for example), I’ve already got it or have already used it. On my person (Even in those tiny fancy purses or I’ll have it in my “big purse” that’s stashed somewhere or in the car, I never leave home without it) I’ll carry at least 2 tubes of chapstick, a small bottle of migraine medication, gum, tooth pickers (The little plastic ones, not the flossy ones), pads, tampons and mints.

I love bathroom baskets!! We had them at our wedding and everyone loved them they said they have only been to few weddings that have them and they always appreciate having something when they need something. Because let’s be honest if and when you have a purse at a wedding it’s usually just a small purse with just the bare essentials in in! And also not all men come with women so then they are really up the creek if they need something.

Also in the woman’s I had eye liner and mascara. And in the men’s condoms And cologne!

imhisoneandonly:  Did you have a mascara and eyeliner for everyone, or just one? If so, I think that would fall into the “Gross. Pinkeye sucks.” category that the deodorant and chapstick is currently in.

A box of condoms? Not a joke by the way.

I had a few maybe 3 eye liners and 2 mascaras. Although I left them in packages and I noticed only one was open and I heard from multiple people that they used them so I guess they didn’t think eew gross? When I was growing up I used my girlfriends eyeliner mascara Chapstick deodorant before. I’m mean it’s not like your using it in your private areas or anything. I guess I see nothing wrong with it, just the other day me and the 4 other girls in my cousins wedding all used my lip gloss….I guess I better go contaminate myself now…

ChicoryCreek:  yes box of condoms…apparently you have never hooked up after being at a wedding!? I would rather have them avaiable for someone than for someone to be like yeah I got knocked up the night of your wedding because we didn’t have a condom!

Hyperventilate:  obvi not everyone is “as prepared” as you. I find it weird that you always carry all that stuff with you whe you just said that those baskets are more in depth than what you have at home!? Either way when you need something you need something. I would rather make it confident for one of my guests than for them to be uncomfortable/have to go ask other people for something/ possibly even leave!
