I made these centerpieces very early on in wedding planning and am starting to second guess them. We are having an October “fall” themed wedding. Does the fake leaf garland look cheesy? Any opinons on these or other ideas of use for a fall lantern centerpiece would be appeciated!

weddedbliss2014: Something about the garland on the plate does not look right. I would look for something else or put some kind of filler under it.

I think they look great! You could do away with the charger plate and just place the lantern on the table.

I think they look great… not cheesy at all.

I think they look great as well! What about adding a mini pumpkin or two if you wanted to add something else?

Im not a fan of fake plants/leaves, so I may be biased. But those leaves look like craft store quality stuff. I would instead of the fake leaves maybe get mums. Mums are super, super cheap and very fall-ish. (Usually 7-10 dollars per plant, and usually fairly large). They come in all of those beautiful fall colors. You could stick a decent sized pot of mums and place it in a hallowed out pumpkin. Then have small votives around it.
and if buying pumpkins is too expensive (because they can add up too) you could do a weaved basket like this. Its still fall like.
Or you could just wrape the containiner the mums come in, in burlap and tie it with a pretty satin ribbon.
I know none have the laterns that you already have, but you could always use those are your cocktail hour on the tables.
