Hi, so it’s all still under a veil of secrecy, but I think my SO may be proposing soon and this could be the ring…he has spoken to me about a number of rings and this one is my fave. He’s not sure of the tips of the prongs (thinks they are too prominent) jeweller said we could have them filed down, but I’m scared I won’t like it!! What do you all think of the ring…

Beautiful! Looks like it tapers in towards the stone? I really like rings that do this.
Can’t go wrong with a classic setting like this. I don’t think it matters if you reduce the size of the prongs or not, it will just be a tiny bit anyway so if it makes your SO feel better I don’t think it will change the look. How exciting for you!

I love it! Very classic and elegant. But just for the sake of offering a different point of view, make sure you consider how it will feel to wear it all the time. My ering is very similar to that one in that it sticks up pretty high above the finger. I love the way my ring looks, but it took me a while to get used to it getting in the way of things. It hurts to put your fist down (like to adjust your seating position or something), it makes it harder to hold hands, and sometimes it catches on my clothes. It was worth it to me to have such a pretty and eye-catching ring, but it could be a dealbreaker for some people.
