I booked my caterer a few months ago, and it was definitely a splurge- $10,750 for 200 people. BUT, the food is one of our top priorities and this caterer is very high-end and experienced (Kathyg.com). My mom insisted on going with the best for food. However, my wedding planner was really kind of rude about how much I spent on food and drinks.

    Cocktail Hour

    Champagne Punch- Lemon Sorbet :)

    Water/Tea

    Proscuitto-wrapped melon balls

    Reception

    Wine

    Water/Tea with floating fruit

Fresh Fruit Display (Grapes, berries) with dips

    Vertical Vegetable Display with dips

    Teriyaki Chicken Satay with sauce

    Mini BLTs with remoulade

    Twice-Baked Potatoes

    Assorted Sushi

Ahi Tuna and seaweed salad on edible spoons (really cute)

Beef tenderloin carving station with sauces and rolls

    Would love to hear opinions/ideas!

    ETA: 7 PM wedding.

sounds like a good price for a high end caterer! Your menu sounds very elegant! I had the ahi tuna hor dourves with edible sppons at a museum exibit opening and they were SO good! I am also relieved to see even your high end caterer only has one hor dourves option for 200 people, i am having 250 and was super worried about it. Is it a buffet style dinner?

    Thanks for the reassurance :)

Yes- the ceremony will be in a garden with the cocktail following (hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be passed). then, inside the on-site building there will be a buffet room attached to the reception hall.

I think one hors d'oeuvre option is fine if you are having more food following! and i'm glad to hear the ahi tuna went over well!
