@kitzy: I thought about that, it's just I know what its suppost to sound like and know all the lyrics to it and I don't know if it would be the same if I had to cut it down...I'm starting to think it might just be too long.
You could always get the DJ to ask if any other couples want to join you on the floor about halfway through but thats entirely up to you?
@MellyBee891: Love the song! That being said, we danced to "You are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne, it is roughly 4 minutes long...it seemed SUPER long! But it is your day and you should take as much time as you want. =)
@kimbo89: I like that idea! I had thought about having others come on the floor and dance, but I didn't know if it was a common thing to do or not. It's probably better than making 200 guests watch us for 6 min. dancing! lol that could get awkward
@MellyBee891: You could edit a portion of it, or have it fade out at the end?
Or, you could use it as your entrance song, after the bridal party is introduced, and head right into your first dance? That way, after you've entered and taken everything in, when you start to dance, you'll have about 3-4 minutes left!
I would definitely do the ask other people to dance. Maybe bridal party joins after like 3 minutes then ask guests to join. Otherwise I think 6 minutes is a long time to watch two people dance.
Our 1st dance is less than 3 minutes and I am still nervous about dancing in front of people for that long! Might go with choice 2 which is less than 2 minutes lol
@brenna1035:Yea I'm terrified of dancing in front of both our families in the first place, so i'll probably just have everyone else come onto the floor and dance with us after a few minutes :)
We are having the same issue! Call us crazy, but we want to dance to Metallica-Nothing Else Matters. We're both huge Metallica fans, and it's a bit different than the norm :) But it is a 7 minute song...wayyyy too long to be dancing by ourselves. I like the idea of inviting others to the floor with us though.

My FI and I want to use Tiny Dancer as our first dance song because we both love it and have a mild obsession with Elton John music, however the song is over 6 minutes long :/ Do you think thats to long or should we do it anyway???
