i think its so different and gorgeous! But are you set on this one or are you looking at others as well? Also have you talked to her about it? Is it something you think she would like? As in, is it her taste?

@rossies:  It’s very pretty! I agree with the poster above me, do you know what her tastes are?

The band automatically gets a thumbs up from me because I have the same one! Does your girlfriend like clusters? Some people have very strong likes/dislikes about that style.

@rossies:  Clusters (“not one big diamond”) are not my taste, but they may be hers. And that’s what matters — could you get a friend of hers in on it? Have her casually bring up ring styles in general to feel her out on what she likes, then report back to you?

You def need to find out if she likes clusters first! I would’ve been upset with my fi if he had gotten me a cluster just bc my promise ring from him was a cluster and I wanted something different than that. I also really wanted a single center stone. Also I’m not crazy about plain bands I really like pave going down the sides. Does she have a Pinterest board you could look at or something to get an idea of what she likes?

I think the set you chose is beautiful!  The detail on both the engagement ring and the wedding band are unique, and complement each other as a set beautifully.  Traditional and non-traditional, so it’s classic with an unexpected twist.  Nice choice!

I like the cluster personally, because a.) I wear minimal/rustic/artisan jewelry b.) sparkly jewelry doesn’t feel like me c.) large center stone (over a carat) feels too big/not my style – but clusters have nice detail and understated sparkle.  My FI and I have been ring shopping for a few months, as my taste is very eclectic and different, but still classic.  Is your ring custom or does it have a return policy?  If if it does, you could propose with one and she could choose to pick out another, but she may love it so much she wants to keep it!  Good luck, I hope you’ll post pictures!

@rossies:  When I asked a jeweler why clusters are so popular, he said that they are designed to provide bling on a budget.  I think in general, clusters are perceived as a cheaper design.  If she is interested in a traditional center stone (assuming you are in fact on a budget), have you considered Moissanite?

I don’t like clusters so this wolsnt be my favorite, but I will say it’s one of the prettier clusters I’ve seen! I do like the wedding band also!

I personally don’t like clusters, that would be my biggest concern. Make sure you confirm with her that she likes them 100%.

If she doesn’t, look into different options of stones that have the look of a diamond, but are not diamonds. A lot of ladies on the Bee love their Moissanite rings as @ceebree:  suggested and I’m sure they would be able to tell you all about them. BUT make sure your girlfriend would be ok with a non-diamond.

I really like the ring that you have chosen, the band is unusual and I really like it.

Remember that you can always propose with a fake ring and go to choose the ring together. Or, if you are happy to ring shop with her, why don’t YOU choose 3 rings and she picks her favourite from those 3?

I have to agree with PP’s that Cluster rings are for sure not everyones taste. I don’t like them at all, personally. I would rather have a smaller diamond that a bunch of tiny ones made to look like a big one….

I would test the water on what she thinks of clusters first…

I’m personally not a fan of clusters, but as a PP said, clusters tend to be something girls either really like or dislike.  So it’s really about what she likes.  If she says she likes them, then it’s a beautiful ring!  Have you taken her ring shopping so she can try some on and give you a really good idea of what she prefers? My FI and I went ring shopping months ahead of time so I could show him what I liked…I have to wear it forever afterall and it’s important to love the ring!!!  Good luck and best wishes!

I think it looks cheap and unless she pointed it out I wouldn’t get it
