I like it. It looks much better on you than the model! No worries of the wind catching your skirt for a Marilyn moment either.
I like it. I don't think it looks too bridesmaidy. .
as for wearing it again - I wouldn't because of the color, not the style.
$169.00 is a lot to pay for a dress you wouldn't wear again.
I think that dress is adorable! The fact that it's Kate Spade doesn't hurt, either! :)
I think its cute and would make a great bridesmaid dress without being to 'bridesmaidy" plus its a great dress to have on hand for other weddings or even just a night out. it would look cute with black tights and a black cardigan or just as is with some cute sandles for the summer. Is say go for it because you can totally wear it again.
The style is super cute & wearable but I would be hesistant to re-wear it because of the color.
I think it is perfect! Not bridesmaid looking at all. It is a tad pricey if you are never going to wear it again, but i personally think you could wear it anywhere. Just throw a sweater over it and wear it to work, throw it on for a night out, anything like that. It's pretty versatile to me. :)
I think the dress is cute. If you wouldn't wear it again, you could also get it from www.renttherunway.com for $75.

thank you for the feedback ladies.
@jpalm13: thank you and very true about the wind.
@GroovyHippieChick: and @alicia1745: I actually love the color and would have no problem wearing it. It's the style of the dress I'm hesitant about. My mom discribed it as "white bread boring".
@julies1949: excellent suggestion. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to return in within the timeline provided by RenttheRunway due to the wedding logistics. Plus the dress does not fit me perfectly and will need minor alterations.
I like it and I feel like you could make it more rewearable, with a sweater and more relaxed hairstyle. Pinterest has some good inspiration styles with similar cuts of dresses.
The dress looks great on you (way better than the model!), so I think it would be fine - but considering you aren't crazy about it and you still have a couple of months to keep looking, I'm inclined to say skip it. If you are going to pay that price, you might as well find something you love.
I really like it and I do think that it's a good, classic re-wearable dress!
I have that dress! :) Green is my favorite color so I snapped it up when I saw it go on sale. I think it's a great multi-purpose dress. You could wear it to another wedding, a holiday cocktail party, a shower, heck even to church with a cardigan!
I think it's perfect- fits the requirements, looks good with your coloring. A bridesmaid dress is supposed to be somewhat simple, but I disagree with your Mom that it's boring. You could wear it to other weddings.
GOREGOUS!!!
As a redhead, I'd kiss the bride if I was a bridesmaid in this wedding. I would wear that dress all the time after the wedding!
i love it! id wear it OFTEN! you could jazz it up with tights, skinny belt & cardigan in the winters even! definitely love.
I'd totally wear that as a cocktail dress. I love the color.
sometimes people find great dresses on modcloth.com as well!
Thanks Ladies. You guys are swaying my opinion. I think I might get it. The dress is definitly slightly simple but at the same time that makes it wearable for different occassions. I have two other weddings I'll be able to wear it to this summer, (with different styling and accessorizing).
@mink: yes! I have auburn hair right now but thinking of going blonde. I decided to wait until after this wedding because I love the way green looks with my auburn hair.
I love it! The emerald color is gorgeous and its very classic.
i think its great! i LOVE the color and like the others said- looks better on you than the model! and the belt looks good w/it too :) nice choice
I love everything about it. I would be thrilled if my BM's wore it.
I love it! it looks great on you and it definitely meets all the guidelines
I think it looks fantastic! It's not too bridesmaids-y either- I think it's perfect!! :D
i really like it, it looks great on you and the color is fabulous

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I'm a BM in my friend's wedding this coming May. There are three of us and we were all told to chose our own dresses with a few guidelines:
green
at least fingertip length
not too much cleavage
not too bridesmaidy
and it has to fit her garden cocktail level of formality.
I've been looking for fun, summery garden type dresses in light flowy fabrics but yesterday found this on sale. It's Kate Spade so the quality is great and the price is very good for the quality but still not dirt cheap, $169 But I'm on the fence about it. Is it too boring and too bridesmaidy?
I was hoping to buy a dress I could re-wear and I'm not sure if I'd re-wear this one. Does it scream "bridesmaid" or is it just a nice cocktail dress?
What do you ladies think? The dress is not returnable because it's on sale so if I get it there's no going back.
