I saw this bouquet on a website and i absolutely loved it – so i thought id make my colour scheme blue yellow and white. 3 months ago my fiance saw a picture and said it was nice enough…then today he asked if blue and yellow might be a bit mmuch. the plan was blue bridesmaids dresses, blue table runner (white tablecloth) and yellow/white centrepieces. Im now second guessing myself, so i’d love some opinions please!!

Before you base your entire wedding on these florals and colours I would double check with your florist if these blooms are available. Many types of flowers are only in season during certain colours during certain times of the year. With many flowers not coming in the blue/purple or yellow you may get stuck. I would also consider what your man likes as well.
Apart from that I think your colour choice is lovely.

The flowers are iris, yellow and white callas, and yellow roses. All are available for a spring wedding.
Your colors will make a lovely spring palette:

If you’re drawn to something go with it. I have struggled getting my Fiance to see my visions when it comes to decor and he’s not usually on board til he sees the finished product. And the thing that keeps me going is that I’m really into my color scheme. I think if you don’t love it, it will be harder to make it all work. Your ideas sound great.

I agree with @Nellular – guys seem to sometimes have an issue getting the whole vision when they can’t see the finished product. I think your color scheme is beautiful and great for a spring wedding. Maybe collect some more pics and make a board on Pintrest to show your Fiance so he can get a better idea?

@bride7844 Actually thats a very good point, the wedding planner was a little bit hazy on whether the irises would be available or not
@geekchic Youre right, maybe a board would help. I did ask my fiance if he had any alternative ideas that he wanted me to think about and he didnt (except maybe to limit how much yellow i used so it didnt get overpowering)
It is a spring cancun wedding so i wanted quite bright colours without going down the orange/hot pink path that a lot of cancun brides go for. Calla lillies are quite easy to get hold of, roses shouldnt be too hard…so its only the irises, though i have seen them where i live in mexico so at least i know they exist!

My Fiance and I talked about that color scheme for a little while, and I decided not to do it. It’s bright and fun and in the right way can be executed to look great. I don’t think it’s too much and the way you explained your tables I think it will look great.
IMO navy and yellow are better together then a cobalt and yellow. Especially if you’re worried about it being too bright or too much.

Our wedding was cobalt and yellow, and it looked fantastic. One of the bees of late 2010 had a cobalt & yellow wedding too, you should look it up.

im glad you mentioned the word cobalt! ive been looking at “blue and yellow weddings” and it covered every kind of blue i could imagine. now i have that as my search term i can be much more specific – thankyou!! im the worlds worst bride – i dont know different flower names, different colour types etc!
