Only from the few I looked at, his compositions are good, but his edits are not so good. His colors are way oversaturated and some of the people look orange. The black and whites look good though. And some of them are blurry.

    I’m really picky though. 🙂

I think that sounds like a good deal, and while I won’t say the work is the most amazing ever, it’s pretty good. I think if I was looking at booking him, I would want to see a full, or at least full-ish, set of wedding photos he’s done. I say that because the style seems a little inconsistent sometimes, and it makes me a little worried that technique is being compensated for with editing or something. (But don’t take me too seriously here, I don’t especially know what I’m talking about!)

I agree that the colors seem off on some of them, but I know FB pics are really low resolution and often times the color is just off on them.

I think the composition is great and for all you’re getting that’s a great price!

I think one really important thing to look at is the way he uses and works with lighting – try to find pictures of ceremonies that were around the same time of day and the same setting (indoor/outdoor, etc) as what you’re planning and decide if you like them. Photographers have different skills as far as lighting goes, and that’s something that can only be fixed so much post-editing.

I mention this only as I was looking at a few of his photos and there were shadows over some faces of outdoor wedding party photos and that’s something that would really bother me!

@SweetHoneyBee:  I think this is a very reasonable price for what you’re getting. His quality is a bit hit and miss for me but I’m sure you’ll get plenty of great shots! And I think your priorities are right on!
