I made an appointment earlier this week for earlier today at 2pm. I had fun, a pretty good experience, nice consultant, lots of compliments/help, but they aren’t me! I feel like one came fairly close, but didn’t come with a cigar =/ I feel like I wasted DB’s time and my own (even though I had fun w/ my mom). What do you think?
These are really beautiful dresses, and I’m glad I tried them on. But, they are expensive and not really “me”. After looking at some of the China dresses on eBay, I can’t get them out of my head! I wanted to try a boutique sometime this week, but they would be even more expensive than DB and I just cannot see any reason for me to spend over $500 for a dress I will wear once.
These are the eBay dresses I adore:
This one is from Etsy, but still way under $500
What do you think? I’m having such an inner battle with this 🙁

I like the second dress on you!! The last dress is nice also, but I would add more beading/sparkle to it (talking about the dress from DB).

I’m gonna be weird and vote for the last one — the Etsy dress. I think it would look amazing on you!

I love the last one. Make sure it’s properly boned, though. Steel boned corsets are a curvy girl’s best friend… plastic boning is evil!

I think the tea-length one would look great with a crinoline and the bolero fit and possibly pinned on the dress. I adore lace backs. I really like it.
4 is really flattering and looks comfy.
I’m scared of buying a sundress without trying it on, so I won’t vote on the china knockoffs.

i personally love the fourth DB dress on you!

I love the shape 2 gives you, but not the length. I think it is too long for a short dress. If there was a gown version, I think it would take it over the top.

I think out of the DB ones the empire line looks the best on you. But given the inspiration photos you have shown it is too plain for your style. Maybe try a more out there designer to see what you can find to try on?

i like #4 on you. i find it the most figure flattering. i love the headpieces.
the dresses from ebay are beautiful. if those are what suits your personality, you should wear one like that.

I really think the last DB dress looks beautiful on you, but I guess that doesn’t help if you didn’t really like it. Maybe since it’s fairly simple, you could add something to it that’d make it more ‘you’? The ebay/etsy dresses are not my style, but are very pretty. I like the purplish color dress the best, but I think it’d be very hard to wear for 90% of girls.

Follow your heart… if you’re not feeling the DB dresses, it’s not a waste of time,… it takes time to figure out what you like!

Numbers 2 and 3 are the only ones I tried on at DB. I loved them both and would have purchased number 3 if I had not found a totally different dress from a bee for $100.

Number 2! You look amazing!

I just feel like the total style of the DB’s dresses are soooo plain for my style. I like over-the-top, dramatic, interesting, etc. My heart is telling me to get what I love, but I wanted to see what everyone thought of the DB dresses.
I felt the best in #2, but I think #4 “looks” best on me.
Ugh. My mom told me to follow my heart because I almost started crying on my way home. She told me to do what makes me happy.

@ZombieWrecked: Definitely don’t just go for a dress in DB because they’re there. You need to feel like “you” in your wedding dress. I went and tried on hundreds of wedding dresses and none of them were “me”.
