As some of you have probably noticed by now since I have posted in just about any and all applicable threads, I bought a lace bolero. It’s gorgeous and I love it. It is “white” and has a champagne sash.
I am obviously looking for a dress to go under it, and I found Casablanca 1881 here in the classifieds for a great price. I like that dress well enough on its own, so I’d be happy to wear it under the bolero. The only thing I worry about is if the beaded section underneath will look silly sticking out and the dress is the two-tone ivory and champagne. I feel like the colors might not be so bad since the sash is darker, too, but I’m worried it might be a mash-up. What do you think?
I am going to try dresses on for fun tomorrow (because my friend begged me, but anyway), so I am going to see if I can try this dress on and take my bolero, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll have it (or in this color).

to be honest, I feel like there will be a lot going on…but maybe it might look better once I see it all on together. Take pics with it all on, and then we can see!

Jus to be clear, I am asking because I found the dress used, so I can’t really try it all on together unless I bought it. I am hoping the dress shop I go to tomorrow has it, in which case I will definitely post pics, but there are no guarantees on that so I’m just trying to get a general idea. I know it is one of those things you just have to see because it’s either going to be great or horrible, probably not in between haha!
Also, if any bees have this dress, do you think it’s possible to take the beading off without ruining the dress? I worry about that more than the color.

Goooorgeous bolero jacket.
Looks exactly like a look I feel in love with when I first started looking, but I was never ableto find it.
You definitely don’t need much else to make it work.

@lopezlulu: It is that exact bolero jacket! It is even prettier in person; I didn’t think that was possible! I want a more A-line skirt than that, though. I actually went ahead and bought the bolero before the dress because I have been stalking that look for months, too, and it is so hard to find at a reasonable price so I had to snap it up!

Personally, I would go for a simpler dress up top (like the one the model is wearing) and probably a white one.
