I am struggling between deciding if I wan the ceremony at Stern Grove or Shakespeare Garden. Any input would be helpful. :)

Stern Grove Opinions Please: Stern Grove or Shakespeare Garden? : wedding ceremony location san francisco bay area Nikkidarrenblog006

PRO: private/secluded, ample parking, rustic, let you use amp, has an indoor venue in case of bad weather, bridal room

CON: expensive, have to book 6 hour time frame, 2-3x more expensive than Shakespeare

Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park

Opinions Please: Stern Grove or Shakespeare Garden? : wedding ceremony location san francisco bay area 07PRO:rents by the hour (so you can rent the few hours that you need), Golden Gate Park

CON: hard to find parking, will have lots of tourists walking about, hard to find location, no amp allowed, no backup place in case of bad weather

I really love Stern Grove, but I don't want to spend the money nor rent 6 hours when I only need 3 hours max. It would be ok if I find another bride to split the cost and time. I could also save by splitting the cost of chair rentals as well.

BUT I don't know if that would lead to more work to find another couple to share.

Honestly, I'd go with Stern Grove. Much more private, and you don't have to worry about unwanted crashers (at least not as much as you would with the Shakespeare Garden) or your guests missing the ceremony because they couldn't find a place to park. It is an added expense, but I think it's well worth it.

I love Stern Grove. Also, what about doing the reception there, too, at the Trocadero clubhouse? That would be my pick---we looked at it and it was just too pricey for our budget, but it's a great space! And then you'd be using your full time period and then some. (I think that's why it's so much more expensive with longer time blocks, too---it's considered a ceremony/reception venue, whereas the Shakespeare Garden is just used for ceremonies.)

You should go with Stern Grove. I prefer the setting at Shakespeare Garden however, the fact that you can have amp sound outside is a deal breaker.
