Hello Bees. Last week I emailed our JP because I hadn't had contact with her since shortly after my engagement in November and wanted to touch base about plans for our Saturday, July 31, 2010 wedding. She seemed not to remember me and was responding as though I was contacting her for the first time about doing our ceremony. That was a little weird, but I replied with some details to jog her memory and this was her response:

Hm. are you sure it's 7/31/10? On my calendar, 7/30 is a Wednesday and there is no 7/31. Let me know.

Um. I was just flabergasted and didn't know what to say! I let it sit for a few days and tried again this morning. I wrote:

Hi [JP]. I'm following up because we seem to have had a miscommunication last week. [FI] and I are getting married on Saturday, July 31 2010 (7/31/10) at [venue]. Are you available to officiate on this date and time? Please let me know. Because of the confusion, I feel I need a clear confirmation from you so I'm not worrying about whether you've got the right date in your calendar.

Her reply (Hi, Absolutely! You are in my book!) was OK, but I'm still a little shaken. What would you think?
