@Payless:  I think they need to tighten it around your hips more, as well as around the waist. The waist being loose is the main reason it looks funny right now, but I think the hip area could use some taking in, too.

(I’m a seamstress).

I hope they can get it done in the next week or so– yikes!

Good luck!

The straps are higher on the shoulders on the model, the bust is more lifted (as you said is being done) and the waist is too big on you (also what you said is being done). The only other thing I can think of is that you may want a small petticoat/crinoline to have the skirt come out just a little so it doesn’t just hang down. Hope this helps, you look lovely!

I was just going to comment on the straps/bust. How soon are they going to get the bust done? I think that is your biggest issue (in terms of it not looking like the model picture). Hopefully you’ll have time to get more alterations if needed.

@Payless:  What an incredible dress! Wow, love it!

The only thing I notice is that it’s still a little bit big on you, but the main issue is that the straps are now falling outward toward your the edge of your shoulder more they are on the model. The straps on the model are centered right on the middle of her shoulders. I think this will be helped once the dress is tighter on you, & also maybe once you add cups to the breast area if you haven’t already.

@Payless:  It’s definitely the bust. On yours, it’s not fitted enough and there is an uneven crease underneath your breasts. You’re not crazy, but don’t panic because I’m sure with the lifting of the straps and the other alterations it will be fine. 🙂 You look beautiful!

@Payless:  The straps do look a little wider than the model’s dress, but that’s most likely because it was a 12 before. I’m not sure what your seamstress can do about that in so little time. It doesn’t look bad, especially if the bust is liftted to the correct spot. Let’s just hope she doesn’t lift and chop the extra fabric off the top so the strap become even wider, is that makes sense. And yes, I would call this a thin A line.

@Payless:  I honestly wouldn’t worry too much. I think once she tightens up those straps & adds the cups it’s going to look awesome. And honestly, even if you got married in the dress *as is* tomorrow, it would still be amazing. Seriously, that dress is so awesome. It has the beautiful vintage charm of lace but also the ethereal flowiness that I personally love.love.love!

Can’t wait to see your recap; you are going to make such a lovely bride! (btw, have you chosen a hair style or veil? I know you asked for pics with veils & hair down. Is that what you are planning? Is so, I wanna see the veil! 🙂 )

@Payless:  Yes, you shouldn’t worry 🙂 I have been thoroughly impressed by my seamstress’ ability and turnaround time and I think you will be too.

Now that I see the model picture, I agree about your hips needing to be taken in. Once you get all your other alterations done it will look much different.

I think it’s 90% the bust. There’s way too much fabric and it’s giving you the saggy-boobie look. Once lifting/sizing that’s taken care of, I think it will look great.
