I’m using them too, only just started so not sure how its gonna work out but I like feeling like I’m doing somehing to helpsooed the process up! I’m not temping alongside the OPK so I suppose its not 100% but its worth a shot! Good luck!

@CatyLady:  I started to use them the cycle before we actually ttc to figure out if I followed an exact schedule and if I ovulated the same time every month.  The second month I ovulated at the same time and we were then actively TTC–  I didn’t get to do further research because we were surprised to find out that we had a BFP after our first try.

If I didn’t know through the OPK when I ovulated, I would have missed my O day every time because I personally believed that I ovulated earlier than 17 days.  Thinking back to our past cycle I ovulated on a Saturday and we bd that Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. So if I had to guess, it was the Saturday swimmers that did the trick, but just an assumption.

So yes, OPK did help us to concieve!

Our first month we were NTNP, and I was surprised at how disappointed I was when I got my BFN. So in september, I used OPKs. I was lucky and the first one I took was almost positive… the next day I got my positive… and at that point we had already BDd the last couple days so just continued for another couple days since I knew we were in that window. We were successful that first actual try 🙂

I’m headed into my fourth cycle and the opks work for me. We aren’t TTC yet but will be in a few more months So I’m trying to get to know my cycle. I have had a positive opk each time and I ovulated within 24 hours each time (confirmed bc I temp also) I feel like in March when we start TTC they will be very helpful. Oh and I use the ones from dollar tree, love them!

Whoa! I had no idea Dollar Tree had these. I haven’t yet tried them. But I am temping and I am getting a pretty good picture of when my O arrives. So if nothing happens for the next 3 mths, I will use the OPKs.

The first cycle that I used OPKs was the one that we concieved on.

I’m not saying that it was the only thing, I was also temping, and I was actually home during my fertile window. I do however think that it helped with the whole timing thing.

I used OPKs the entire time I charted. My O day was usually between CD 18-21. However, the month I got KU, I ONLY knew it was O day because of the OPK– I randomly O’d on CD 14. Without testing, I would have missed it, based on my previous days!

We didn’t have any success for 5 cycles of “shooting blind” out schedules are crazy, I almost never see dh untill the weekends so I was certain we were missing ovulation. I got pregnant the first cycle of using OPK’s. I found them so easy to use and read…it was pretty clear when my surge came.

I think it would have just taken longer without them.

lealorali:  Just realised that this is an old thread so I’m replying directly to you. I know you chart but it’s really good to use opks too. Its handy, especially if you don’t O at the same time every month. Im pretty regular but usually O between days 14 and 17 so it’s handy for the times when I o early. Actually, this month I’m on cd 20 and just got a positive opk (Travelling and jetlag have put things off!) I wouldnt have known without opks that I’m about to O. I use the SMEP plan which is bd EOD from approx cd8 and then 3 days in a row from your positive opk, one day rest and one more bd. Look it up. Be warned though, a positive opk doesn’t mean you’re Oing (temping Will confirm) and you may get more than one surge. I got a surge at cd7 And cd15 one month.

phoebephoebo:  super helpful! Thanks! Yeah between temping, cm checks and now opks, I’m hoping to narrow it down. I’m going to look up that SMEp plan!
