@onyx81:  Yes the amount of water you drink will affect your urine.  First morning urine is the best bc the LH will be more concentrated (same for HPTs).  You could always do a 4 hour hold where you don’t drink much during that time and then go.  This simulates the first morning urine.

@onyx81:  If you ovulated yesterday then you would have more then likely missed your LH surge. Typically you will get a positive OPK 24-72 hours before ovulation. I test twice a day, once with FMU, anther late afternoon to make sure I don’t miss it. But to answer your original question, too much water can definitely dilute your urine.

@onyx81:  Yes, drinking water will dilute your urine. It’s best to take OPKs several times during the day (early-mid afternoon and evening) after a 3-4 hour hold. Unlike pregnancy tests, it’s actually not recommended to take OPKs with FMU because it’s too concentrated. You can get a false positive that way. You can take one with FMU, but make sure you confirm that positive with a test later in the day. If the line you got last night and this morning was as dark as the control, then that’s a positive. Now, as I said, if you tested with FMU, I wouldn’t trust today’s positive so much. Did your temperature jump above your coverline? If so, then that’s a good indication of O, assuming you confirm it with two more high temps.

@onyx81:  That does change things Wink It sounds like your body is getting ready to O, and you’ll probably get a positive soon. You can always start having sex a little early to make sure you’ve got some swimmers hanging around up there. You might have a really short surge and O right after you get a positive, so more sex is always better than less!
