I’m so glad you posted this. I’m on cd14 and have not gotten a positive opk yet. I have had one day that the test line was darker than the test line on other days, but not darker than the control line. I know my body well enough now to know some of the signs of ovulation and I don’t think it’s happened yet. I’m getting nervous. This is our first month on clomid and I really want it to work.

@MissOct2013:

@AnotherAnonyBee:

I had the same issue this month. I was supposed to O this week as well and I was taking my pharmacy’s brand of clearblue opk’s and I never got a positive. According to ff I may have O’d earlier, but I never got any O cramping or anything that I can remember. I am currently on CD 16 and usually I would have O’d by now. Also my CM has been really off and weird… Not sure if my body/mind is tricking me or what’s going on :-/

@MissOct2013:  yes it is – or it may be that you have a short LH surge and missed it.  In the morning – using SMU – i got a negative – I tested again in the afternoon at work and got a positive.  By SMU the next day it was barely positive.  Some womens LH surges are even shorter!

@hmmtmar:  I hope you did! I’m wondering how much I should trust opks. I’ve had watery cm for a few days and had a burst of ewcm in there, so I’m wondering if I Od then but missed testing at the right time. I guess only time will tell.

@MrsBaldEagle:  I’m glad you said that. I was actually about to ask how long everyone typically gets a positive opk. Last cycle I had positives for three days ( maybe more but I only started testing when I got symptoms). Is that normal? How long do you all get positives?

@AnotherAnonyBee:  I would have counted my barely positive OPK as a positive if i didnt test in the afternoon the day before.  Based on this cycle I had + for about 20 hours.

@MrsBaldEagle:  oh, yours are only positive for about 20 hours? I’m wondering if my cycle is weird because of the clomid. To be honest, I don’t know what a normal cycle is for me so who knows. I can’t remember if the test i took prior to that was from the previous day or 2 days before that. If I don’t get a positive soon then I’m going to assume that was it. Thank you!

@MissOct2013:  It’s definitely possible to have missed the LH surge. I tested in the late afternoon and was most successful with that. Relying on your other fertility signs is totally reasonable.

@MissOct2013:  the LH surge typically doesn’t happen until later in the day. I got a positive around 12:00 noon last week. I tend to test between noon and 2, once after work if I haven’t gone to the bathroom in a while, and I got my strongest positive ever (test line way darker than control line) around 10:00 PM — but I think I have an overnight surge.
