I don’t have any advice but those are the same ones I’m planning on using starting next month so I’m hoping they will work since I currently don’t do any other chart, but may start. Have you been using these before or just started?

vanike:  Right. Yeah I got the same ones, and it had pretty good reviews and I know others use them. I may try it the first month and buy different ones if it doesn’t work. It’ll be my first month off BC anway so idk if I’ll ovulate or not. I really need to figure out the charting though so I can have a better idea.

vanike:  Well, if it makes you feel any better, the month we conceived I didn’t get a true positive. My line was never nearly as dark as the control, maybe like 3/4 as dark. However, I didn’t do a very good job testing at all (wasn’t always able to do a four hour hold/didn’t test at the same time every day, only tested once a day, etc). Good luck to you!

vanike:  I use opks 2-3 times a day so as not to miss the surge. I’d say you have a short surge and that’s why you didn’t get a positive.

I got blaring positive my first month trying OPK, I wasn’t temping or anything….but I was testing morning and evening.

I second testing twice a day. One in the early afternoon and one in evening. First thing in the morning and it won’t show up. It may be that you are just missing the surge because it’s short

vanike:  If you’re really going to commit to the OPK’s, you should really test at least twice a day (heck, I tested 3x/day during my “prime time” days just to be sure!) – it’s really a gamble on whether or not you will catch your surge if you only do them once a day..  Have you given some thought to trying the SMEP method? (http://spermmeetseggplan.com/) If you can’t figure out a positive OPK, you could just go by your average O date or thermal BBT shift..
