Optional vendor meals

    I provided all vendors who had to work through dinner with a full meal. Especially photographer and wedding coordinators who’d been on their feet all day. It just makes them work better, they’d be in the room during the reception, and where are they going to store that packed meal? I can’t imagine it being quite appetizing by the time dinner rolls around. It did not affect how much I planned to tip, I still tip them just the same.

    @darkpearl:  I don’t technically have to feed my photographers (their contract says more than 6 hours I have them for 6 hours) but if I’m going to have you from 3:30-9:30 I think it’s only polite to feed you.

    @darkpearl:  DJ, photographer, coordinator should all get meals (vendor meals are fine). Who else were you thinking?

    Just as an additional note, I used to work as a wedding photog, and it’s SO hard to concentrate with so much good food around you and you don’t get fed any of it! I definitely remember people who fed me and those who didn’t. Granted, I packed many many energy bars to tie me through but it still wasn’t enough. i need a hot full meal at the end of the day and there’s no way I can prepare or pack something like that myself.

    We are definitely providing a meal for our photographer, DJ, DJ’s assistant and the person running the photobooth. Our venue charges us half the price of our regular guests for the vendors so to me it was no big deal. The day of coordinator works for the venue so I am pretty sure her’s is already included but I will be double checking. As far as tipping goes I plan to tip them just as much as I would if I didn’t have to provide a meal. To me its would just be rude to not provide them with dinner. If I were the photographer or DJ I would be very cranky and irritable if I didn’t get to eat. 🙂

    We fed our photog/assistant and our Pastor!

    We didn’t have a DJ, but we would have fed him, too!
