It looks like ReBar in Brooklyn may not be honoring all the weddings they have booked. I thought it might be helpful for all the couples in that situation to make a list of alternatives in the area.
When I was looking in Brooklyn, these are the places that I liked the best:
The BBG – they have a smaller Atrium space and the larger Palm house space.
Stone Park Cafe – a smaller space but lovely. Can seat up to about 60.
The Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture also has a great space.
Any other ideas out there? Any thought for what to do if you have a wedding planned for tomorrow!?!?!? You can’t get a park permit on that short notice, but maybe a wedding hall like the grand Prospect Hall coudl throw somethign together quickly because it is their thing?

I don’t know how many of these places are booked already, but some ideas to try:
Brooklyn Winery (we just went to a wedding there two weeks ago and it was amazing!)
Columbia Faculty House
These places: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mackenziekruvant/amazing-alternative-nyc-wedding-venues
Dyker Beach Golf Course
the Prospect Park Picnic House
The Foundry in LIC
Galapagos Art Space
I feel awful for all the folks who are getting screwed out of their wedding at ReBar. So, so awful. 🙁

Agree with @melizabe. There are a lot of business going directly to that Gothamist article to offer help. Also, I suggest searching Twitter. Some businesses have been offering assistance via their Twitter account.

I hope Miss Squid and the rest of you Rebar brides are able to find a new location!

I am SO very sorry for all you ladies, this is insane.
I’ve never been, but I’ve heard Deity in Brooklyn is similar and they are not super far apart if one already had guests staying at Marriott/Nu Hotel etc.

ReBar’s wedding planners sent out an e-mail with a list of all the venues who’ve discounted weddings for reBar couples.
Maybe it’s just me, but after losing as much money as I did, I have NO desire to restart the wedding planning process. If we can’t somehow recoup the money we spent, we cannot afford a wedding in New York, discounted or not. If we do, I have no interest in giving it to another wedding venue. F*ck that.

melizabe: Do you have any pricing information for ici? We are devastated but trying to move forward.
mxe7411: I got some pricing info for ici from last year, when I was looking into having our rehearsal dinner there. They had a passed hors d’ouerves option for $25/pp which included six passed apps. Unlimited beer and wine was about $40/pp for three hours. I don’t have info on their sit down dinner options bc we were just looking for something casual, but I know they have those too. Wishing you lots of luck moving forward, and I’m so sorry this happened to you.

My friend got married at the Wyeth Hotel in Williamsburg. Amazing!

mxe7411: They can do a seated menu from $45 to 65 per person, plus tax, tip, drinks, cake etc. They can serve 80 seated, or 100 as a buffet. I emailed them and they sent over a brochure with all the info and were never pushy. I know 2 people who have had weddings there and they were both very happy. They have an $8,000 or $10,000 minimum depending on the day of the week of the wedding.

ladies just heard on the news that brides can get their money back from ReBar.. more information in the link below. Also, for those who have not file a consumer complaint “will have 120 days to file a complaint and submit proof of payment. “
