Thanks. I was thinking of going there. do you know if they do other support garments as well?
They definitely have other stuff. I know they had "grannie panties" type of thing that makes your tummy flat and your butt cute. I would swing by if you can or try to give them a call. Also, they have a website www.orchardcorset.com which, I think has pretty good overview of their inventory.
thanks for the recommendation. i ended up with this corset: http://www.orchardcorset.com/Dominique-8949-Longline-Lace-Torsolette_p_14476.html#
and the $55 includes tax :)
word of warning: be careful that you're getting exactly what you need. the bustier i bought did not work for my gown. i had to take it back to exchange. they were much less friendly and helpful when i needed an exchange than when i initially made my purchase! they don't do returns. only exchanges and store credit.
I just went to Orchard Corset today and the woman who fitted me, Peggy, was amazing. I had already purchased a bustier at Bra Tenders, but realized when I got it home that it was just 1) too short to be comfortable on my torso 2) not enough support 3) hardly any shaping capability. So I went back on the hunt and Peggy got me into a waist cincher - unbelievable how curvy I look now when I'm normally so square shaped - and refit my bra and helped enhance what little I have there. Seriously amazing hard core undergarment fitting. This is a very old school shop but they know their stuff and how to make you look great.

I just wanted to give shout out to Orchard Corset. I went there today after hopelessly looking for strapless bustier to wear underneath my wedding gown all over town. It's very strange little shop ( think old school lightly dusted with boxes upon boxes hiding bras and bustier stacked all the way to the ceiling). It's mended by fairly large orthodox jewish man and his wife. He mends the store, she helps you with the fitting.
So I came in, said I need strapless bustier to wear underneath my dress. Woman took one look at my dress, one look at me ( still in bra) and pulled out amazingly fitting bustier. No measurement tape needed. And it was $55, which is SUPER reasonable in "bustier world".
Anyways, if you are looking for a bustier, definitely give it a try. It's nothing fancy on the outside but they know their "stuff". The store also carries regular bras.
