I am not sure about HOB, but definitely check Pearl's Place (they have a brick and mortar store in New Orleans), netbride and rk bridal are all good places to get designer dresses for a discounted price.
Do you have personal experience with them? Or know someone who does?
Hi,
I am a plus sized mother of the bride. I found a gorgeous gown, just what I wanted online for a price I would have never expected. They have gowns of all types and sizes. We had just 2 months to the wedding, and I got my gown in plenty of time. They even helped me figure out what size to order, by calling them with my measurements. They have a brick and mortar place by the name of Rowan Bridal, I think they may be in NJ. Their online business is www.keepmeinstitches.biz I highly recommend them. I found my daughter's BM gowns, all brand new with tags from someone on Craigslist. Got 5 matching gowns in the color she wanted for $200.00 for all, plus a small shipping fee. Good luck!

Has anyone ever ordered their dress (bridesmaids specifically) online? The dress that I want for my bridesmaids is expensive in stores, and my bridesmaids are literally all over the world right now. It's difficult to get them together to get measurements and get the dress. Then it's difficult to have them come back to pick up the dress and get it altered before the wedding. Or they all come in a week in advance before the wedding and do it then, which si bad for them and me because it's a lot of time away from work.
I found the dress for $100 cheaper on HouseOfBrides.com. They have free shipping or something like that and it can get to all my bridesmaids much more easily. All they would have to do is take it to a local tailer when it arrives to them in whichever city. Has anyone used them? I don't know about ordering dresses online. It seems sketchy to me, but it's SO MUCH CHEAPER! I was aiming for having my girls spend no more than $150 for the dress, and by doing it this way, it works out to be about that! If I went through a store, they'd have to pay over $250 each! Is it worth it to do something a little sketchy like that to save a LOT of money and trouble??
