@szaerpoor: Photographer I know of 2 who are really good! Magic Moments Photography and Lindsey Wiatt Photography They both have facebook pages and are still pretty new to weddings so their prices are pretty good!
Dress shopping I cant help you much because I still havent found mine
and hair and makup would depend on your area!
Oh and if you go to the local boards we have a board just for oregon (portland) Alot of us oregon Bees post there and we are even planning a Wedding Bee meetup!

This place is awesome, I went to about 7 salons in 3 different states(Wa, Id, Or) and they were the best with no one else coming close. i would have done a review for them on here but you have to be married.
This was the first place that I got to really pull my own dresses, I probably tried on atleast 10. They have a crazy awesome selection and are completely no presure sales people. My consultate was pretty much they one who kept telling me that I would know if the dress was the one and to just enjoy the expierence.
Long story short I bought my dress from them, which was like $200 under list price(It was a maggie sottero and I did crazy amounts of research)
Anywho, that is really my only Or vender since we are moving to Seattle a month before the wedding(which is in seattle conveniatly) Good luck and congradulations!!
@MsPanda - thank you for letting me know about the oregon boards, i had no idea.
@koolbeans621 - i got my dress from bridal exclusives too! i absolutely loved them. in clackamas right? i actually went to their bridgeport location one day and i really disliked the consultant there, so i make sure to make the drive to clackamas when i need something.
i'm going through powers photography, and i also have my florist booked - mai's floral in portland, on sandy blvd. she's vietnamese, and her shop is tiny, and she is REALLY cheap. if you guys don't have a florist yet i really recommend her. basically, if you find a picture of flowers you want, or even look on another florist's site, she can recreate anything you'd like. and i'm doing beaverton bakery for cake.
i don't have a dj, or hair/makeup figured out yet, if anyone has suggestions!
i absoluetly loathe bridal exclusive ..they have been rude,lied to me bout my dress arrival, sold sample dress of mine before my acessory appointment didnt call and say dont come we dont have ur dress anymore. as soon as my dress comes im taking it home and not dealing with them again.

floralevent is our florist... im gonna hold my mouth shut on her right now since she was really good at communicating but now it has changed. if she gets her communication problems figured out and does everything i asked for i will be happy.. she was my "middle of the budget-quote so hopefully it goes well
@asianyoushi which bridal exclusives did you go to? clackamas or bridgeport? do you mind if i ask what happened with the lie about your dress arrival?
@szaerpoor: clackamas... so went there first for my hunt for dress.. i told my bridesmaids take photos and i will pick when i get home. cuz i didnt want to rush into buying dress- sales associate siad photography is not allowed. i said fine what ever. tried on bout 5 or 6 dresses. sixth dress was the one- got all emotional. she said u can take pictures now.. bridesmaids were shock and cameras started going. she then said i need to put 50% down because i took photos... so had to call fiance up tell him price and post date a check for a day so i can get the amount to cover the check in my account.. then we did a second appointment for accesories i didnt know how i was doing my hair so i just said i would come back with an idea of what i need. third appointment i show up and they said they lost/sold the sample dress so i drove from beaverton to clackamas at rush hour for an appointment i couldnt do and they didnt call and tell me before hand that the dress i was trying to accesorize isnt there. then there was a snafu about my store credit- i ended up over paying 315 so i was suppose to get store credit. i called and asked if they could just refund me and they said first i didnt have a store credit 10 minutes later they said o we found the note in ur account we can mail it to u or put it back. they put it back to the bank account quickly. a week later i called to ask the progress of dress one sales associate said my dress would be here within the week. no phones one week later i call back and they said my dress hasnt left the factory and wont be here til febuary. she leaughed and said i would be really lucky if it came mid febuary but dont hold my breath.
so an update... dress apparently came in last week... didnt call me to let me know.. i just called and they were "oo we didnt call you? umm yea u didnt call me thats why i am calling now.. next week some time i will go get my dress... the alteration place is only open four days a week... random hours dependning on the day...
got my dress. its in my procession... they didnt order the train right... its twice as along as the dress i tried on when i ordered my dress... it was suppose to be half of that train... got lots of altering to do but wont be going though that companys alterations...
I had an absolutely fantastic experience dress shopping at Xtabay vintage. You get the entire bridal salon to yourself and your bridesmaids during your appointment. Also, I found an absolutely gorgeous dress for $500! All of their dresses range from $200-$900, making it definitely budget friendly. The salon is absolutely beautiful. Here is a photo:
I would like to know, WHERE on earth is/was your wedding locations? i'm getting married in Oct, 2012. and I'm looking for something afforadable, but also pretty. it would be a plus for them to welcome d.i.y. brides.

At $1400 (including a cleaning fee), it's defintely affordable. Bascially the venue lets you do whatever you want without any extra fees, making it great for DIY brides.

My venue is actually is in Newport at Donald Davis Park. My Photographer is one of my clients who is from Idaho, but she travels! She owns a company called Bennie Ray Photography.
And I'm doing my own flowers.
I'm also selling a Maggie Sottero wedding dress, the one in the picture, for $275 if anyone is interested. Ladies interested are more than welcome to come and try her on! :)
