aqporteous: I was going to post a photo from my daughter’s wedding, in the valley, but it’s not uploading.  I’m in Central Oregon too!  Moved out here just about a year ago!  Nice to see there’s another bee out here!  Maybe we can have a meet-up.  Wonder if there are any others here?

ksn1219:  What part of OR might you be moving to?  Central Oregon is very different from the Portland area.

ksn1219:  Portland is amazing. We moved here from California 2 years ago and have zero regrets. Could not live anywhere else in Oregon because we are both big city folks, so Portland is just the perfect size. It is the smallest city I have ever lived in but it is just big enough.

If you come up and visit, send me a message and I will buy ya a drink or coffee or something! =)

creativeplannertobee:  That will definitely be an adjustment since we live in Ga and we are in a drought most of the time haha

PunkRockPrincess:  I’m glad to hear you like it! I’ve only heard good things about it. We are from the suburbs of Atlanta so Portland would be a huge change for us. My FI works for Nike and is hoping to get the internship next year since he made it to the final 2 this year and didn’t get it  I will definitely be out there to visit if he gets it and will let you know! Even if he doesn’t get it, he’s still talked about moving out there and taking a starting out position. I’m just worried about the cost of living because it is so much higher than what we are used to. I’m sure it wasn’t that different for you coming from Cali, right?

ksn1219:  Yes, Portland is wonderful!  We lived in that area for 13 yrs.  My daughter still lives there.

My wife and I did our legal wedding stuff in Oregon (we’re a same sex couple living in Georgia). We went to Cannon Beach and it was AMAZING. My only regret is that we didn’t hire a photographer to take pictures of our little courthouse ceremony and the ensuing beach frolicking.

Here are a couple of pics we talked some nice random people into taking:

ksn1219:  Nike …. or Intel…the two reaons everyone comes here…hahaha

Cost of living was about double in California. We have a house that is 2x as big and are saving 800 a month in rent. It is so much better for us here!

I have never been to Atlanta except through the airport but I can imagine it will be a change for sure….but I think you will enjoy it. Especially the change in weather…unless you like the heat, then you will be sad since it only get over 100 like a couple a days a year.

I hope the Nike thing works out!!
