When I was engaged, we'd booked the View Point Inn in Corbett for our Ceremony & Reception.
I definitely don't recommend them. While the location is beautiful, they are overpriced and difficult to work with. The owner is...well..for lack of a better word, crazy, and when we signed a contract with them a full year in advance to get the discounted pricing before they raised their rates, they changed Coordiantors on us SIX TIMES. That's right. I got three different emails every 6-8 weeks from a new coordiantor introducing herself, and a few times I'd email them regarding a question, only to find *suprise!* a new coordinator on staff.
@vintage I have heard that! we met with them but then I heard from a caterer that they were known for not paying vendors for stuff and being flaky! It is such a beautiful spot though, but i think the twilight fans will keep it alive.
David Cole Queen Anne Victorian Mansion for ceremony and reception in Portland
World Trade Center in downtown Portland for both ceremony and reception on the 4th of July -- we should be able to see the fireworks over the river!! So excited!!
I used to live in portland... I still really miss it. But anyway, my best friend is getting married (probably) at the Chinese Gardens this summer. The Vista House sounds really cool, I didn't know you could rent the place out.
I got married this past September at the West End Ballroom in downtown Portland. The venue was great! So pretty and the staff is so accomodating. This is definitely a hidden gem in downtown!
Yay for Oregon girls.
I am getting married at Gray Gables Estate. I love it and i totally suggest it for people that are looking for a venue still.
@Vista - Which room are you having yours in at edgefield? I've heard such great things about weddings there.
@Vintage - I have heard bad feedback about the PEOPLE that work @ Viewpoint, that is so terrible because it is one of the prettiest venues in oregon. Hopefully they get there act together and that venue doesn't go down hill, it is a gem.
@Futurebean - World trade center! That's going to be a really cool wedding, are you doing inside or out? At prom we had it outside on the pavillion area.
I haven't heard of a few venues you girls have listed, let's all cross our fingers for beautiful weather this summer!
@ms. Brew we are renting the theater! It is super tiny and only seats like 90 so it is perfect for our ceremony.
I'm not a Portland bride, but we are getting married at the Levi Strauss estate in Ashland, Oregon.
We're getting married at a family friend's farm and garden in the Columbia River Gorge. Super close to the Portland Womens Forum. Has an AMAZING view of the gorge...we can see crown point from there!
Did anyone consider Lakeside Gardens or Grey Gable Estates? I never had a chance to go visit those places but their ads make them look amazing!
@PDXBride - I looked at both Grey Gables and Lakeside Gardens. Grey Gables was beautiful and very nice. To be honest the pictures don't do Grey Gables justice. If I had a larger budget, I would have chosen Grey Gables. While on the other hand, I was not impressed with Lakeside Gardens at all. The building is older and starting to look pretty run down. Lakeside Gardens seems pretty expensive for what they have to offer.
I opted for Log House Gardens in Salem. It is very affordable and beautiful if you want an outdoor garden themed wedding.
@pdxbride and @scuba - We are getting married at Gray Gables, and you are right the pictures do not show how beautiful it really is. True though the price is a little high, but they are doing everything for me, so a higher press for zero stress is okay with me! Lol.
@scuba - That Loghouse is soo gorgeous, i would love to get married there I didn't really want to go out of town though! It looks like you have a long aisle? That will be so beautiful.

We're getting married in Salem in his grandparent's AWESOME backyard... it's packed with flowers and right next to a creek! Gonna have some pretty sweet pictures!
Has anyone heard anything about Garden Vineyards in Hillsboro? We saw their website and are considering it... Looks amazing!
@littlemissmango - Garden Vineyards was one of my top contender sites... until I found out how much they charge! Completely out of my budget, but very, very pretty! Good luck!
@littlemissmango-
I'm with futurebean, I love the Garden Vineyards. Absolutely stunning...just outside my price range though!
we are getting married at the Abernethy Center in Oregon City.
@littlemissmango -- I agree with others, garden vineyards is a beautiful venue! unfortunately out of my price range as well!
We're having both our ceremony and reception at Overlook House in North Portland.
@smartassbride-we almost booked the Overlook! I LOVE that place, but we are going with the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in woodburn instead. It is way affordable and gorgeus for an outdoors wedding!

@Ms.Brew-I love almost all your choices! I have a lot that I had previously bookmarked, but I tossed them out when we put our deposit down. My dream was to get married at Bridal Veil, but alas it was too expensive for us and our small wedding with elderly and disabled guests would have a hard time maming the trek there. Wooden Shoe was my fiance's pick over mine, I liked the Overlook Better except for the time constraint. We are a very practical bunch and wanted to be sure that we had ebnough time for everything. And I am happy because they are so accomodating and nice!
We are planning Cannon Beach (beach wedding!). Reception site is still unknown. We were thinking about BBQing, but you never know when it will rain - especially on the coast.
We are planning on having both the ceremony and reception at the Hotel deLuxe. We're doing a fairly small wedding, and want a glamorous vintage feel.
@melrose: I love Hotel deLuxe! FI had his Christmas party there last year and it is such an amazing venue.
@tiffnapit: I really wanted Bridal Veils too! It looks sooo beautiful. But it was already booked :-(
Sweet Cheeks Winery in Eugene.

(Any other Eugenean Bees up in here?)
We were married at Marine Park in Cascade Locks (another Gorge bride!). We did the ceremony on Thunder Island and the reception in the Gorge Pavilion. They are located right on the banks of the Columbia River. I couldn't have picked a better venue!
My daughter's wedding was last summer at Helvetia Winery and Vineyard.
Glenn and Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center.
@ Rachel Leigh, I hope you post pics! It would be fun to see how it looks for each of our weddings!
