My old roomie, Katey, got married on the Oregon coast & it was fantastic! It was the 4th of July weekend (like you) & there were fireworks (not from the guests, but from the town). This wasn't in Yachts, I think it was in Waldport (which is REALLY close to Yachts)... but coast weddings are always beautiful. I've driven thru that area, & I don't think any part of the Oregon coast is "bad", its super clean in OR (I'm not sure where you're from). July is usually not rainy, but have a backup location just in case it should rain. It IS the Oregon coast!! Plus I think on the beach weddings are free, location wise :).
Katey had a local caterer that gave them a good price, they used a lot of shells & such as FREE decorations, I was one of their photographers (you can see my profile for more info if interested), they had everything in the town's reception hall & it was very pretty & not too expensive.
How big is your wedding? Some coastal towns will get booked up thru the 4th of July weekend, so you may want to check into some things now. 4th of July may also book up in terms of vendors, plus its a holiday. I know its doable as my friend had everything set up. If you need a photographer, PM me! Otherwise, good luck in everything, I'm sure it will work out great :).
Thanks for the post! Actually, Mr. Mermaid's parents live in Waldport, which is a lot of the reason I want to get married in Yachats. I will let you know once we have really and truly set the date...I've been doing some scouting about re availability. Thanks again!
I looked it up & yea it was in Waldport which is close to yachts. I can email Katey to see if she has any recommendations of places/ vendors for you if that would help. Let me know & I'll ask her.
That would be great. You can tell her I'm thinking of Little Log church by the sea in Yachats, then Teahouse Pavilion at Yachats Inn for the reception with catering by either Green Salmon Organic or Drift Inn. And I heard there's a good organic flower farm in Yachats, too.

I'm getting married in Waldport this August... information would be fantastic! Wish I would have seen this line of posts earlier!

Have any of you planned a wedding on the Oregon Coast? I am thinking we'll get married in Yachats. Any dish on coastal wedding stuff?
