Wow, that's awful. Does the 17-year-old want to come?
I was afraid of similar issues with my ex. We planned our wedding for a weekend I knew my son would be home, just so I didn't have to deal with the trauma if I picked a random weekend and it happend to be "his" weekend.
Awe I am sorry you couldn't get your date. Seems though we make sacrifices for the one we love and when we decide to marry we take on EVERYTHING that comes with it. My husband and I had to work around our dates we had his children. We wanted no issues with the ex. She is enough trouble as it is!
Honestly, I am so glad my ex and I stayed civil. Trying to deal with a bitter ex-spouse while raising children is a total pain. Kudos to you for trying to work it out so the children can be there without putting them in the middle.

We really want his 19 year old daughter and 17 year old son at the wedding. So, I am giving up on my dream date of 11-11-11 and going for april something- spring break. Can you believe we have to go to court to get a court order to have the 17 year for sure- and even then she may decide he has to do something else. GRRrrrrrr
