So this is related to a post (that died) early this morning. Short recap:
This has been on my DIY to do list for a while, but is not a crucial decorative element. The entrance to our historic venue is long basement hallway –very plain. I had picked up 15 of these mini shepard hooks at a garage sale for like $5 and planned to use them in this space–planted is some decorative pots (which I have a ton of).
[Long version: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/need-opinions-mini-yarn-pomander#ixzz2uTPUAzgv] –my yarn pomander looked too much like a wintery shower scrubber–I definitely agree with the wintery part.
What to hang from the hook?
I do not want to spend a single dime on this since this is not a crucial area to decorate. Nor do I want to spend a significant amount of time. I have loads of left over decorative paper so I can either do a paper flower pomander (e.g., punched paper flowers) or origami cranes from these hooks. The cranes are much faster, but do they look OK?
Please note that I already have 1000 cranes I folded for part of the ceremony and reception space decor, so that is why I thought of them–the design element is already present.
(ignore the ugly silver pot–I have planters in storage that I will use)
A paper punched pomander would look something similar to this–which is much more time consuming:
Given only these two choices, which one?
