Hi Hive!
I posted on an older post for same-sex couples last week- but it seems to be pretty dead!
So I'm posting again!
I'm an avid wedding bee reader, wedding-blog stalker, and one bride in a two-bride wedding and I've recently begun blogging about our awesome wedding!
I hope you'll join me in our wedding adventure:
And I hope to see more gay bloggers around the hive in the future!
xoxo
My friend had the same dress as you! She got married in vegas, very cute!
ms. awesome- I LOVE your dress! I'm also on the hunt for the perfect short white dress.
I'm also a proud bride in a fabulously gay wedding! (my partner has a pretty fluid gender identity, so the phrase "two bride wedding" isn't entirely representative of us). I've been stalking Weddingbee for almost a month now since my partner & I have finally committed to picking a date/venue and planning the most amazing, non-traditional ceremony/party/shindig that we can imagine. What also makes our wedding even more non-traditional is that my partner is Thai and buddhist, so we'll be incorporating a lot of multicultural elements into our wedding on top of the whole "super gay" thing.
I'm definitely going to follow your blog, and let me know if you have any other gay wedding blog recomendations! As for me, I promised my partner that I wouldn't blog until after I take the bar exam in February.... she knows me so well, I could easily waste hours and hours of my day on Weddingbee AND blogging on my own blog....
Happy planning, everyone!
um, your halloween costumes were AWESOME. i am truly impressed. and as for the dresses, LOVE THEM. i so want to do short as well, but i might be having to make other people happier by going traditional. barf. is the one you purchased already (the first pic) bcbg? i like :)
Yay! Thanks for all the love.
@missmary: I think that a blog post about other "gay" or just fabulous blogs is in order. And I'm looking forward to yours post-bar of course. gotta keep the lady happy! lol. (and yourself sane I imagine)
@sunshine bride: thanks- we had a lot of fun with our last minute halloween costumes, and yes, the dress I already purchased is the short BCBG one. Yesterday we went and tried on a bunch of vintage dresses though, so we'll see...maybe you too can be a short dress bride and change post-ceremony to keep everyone happy??
just checked out your blog and i love the short dresses you have on there! i want a re-do of my reception please so i can wear one of those dresses!
and how the heck did i miss checking out the heritage square museum when looking for venues? where in LA is this place and how have i not heard of it before? looks like you are in for such a wonderful wedding!
Ooh, I hope you become a Bee! I'd love to read about you and your bride-to-bee on Weddingbee!
Edit: I just checked out your blog, and it's great! i'm bookmarking.
I'm a Bee who is part of a same-sex couple! My wife and I were just married last month. You can check out our wedding site at this link.
Oh, and I just posted a comment on your blog, which got moderated. Funny, I'd never thought of myself as moderate. ;-)
It's nice to see same sex wedding posts. My partner and I are tying the knot in August, and are so excited. I have to say how nice it is to see other couples like us posting their wedding planning experience. We were hoping to get married in NY, but now that that is out of the window, thanks to our lovely Senate (sense my sarcasm), we have to go to Connecticut to get married. Ah, well. Just wanted to say thank you for the acknowledgement.
Hey ladies! I'm also a recently engaged (well, as of last easter) queermo. No date though, we're hoping to wait until it becomes legal in CA or IL...if that happens within the next few years. Love your blog Ms. Awesome and I'll be following your adventures!
Lovin' the blog! You're funny and I really hope you are thinking about applying to be a bee.
your blog is frickin awesome. Already put it in Google reader. And you need to apply to be a Bee, I'd follow ya!
All your blog posts have such sumptuous photographs! Mmm...eye candy....
Okay I just wasted like an hour of my workday on your blog.... sigh... :)
welcome!
wow! Thanks for all the love! I've been working INSANE hours/days for the last few weeks and haven't had much time for blog/web/weddingbee and this totally cheered me up! Thanks!
Another vote for you to apply to be a Bee blogger! You'd be fabulous.
Your blog made me laugh. = ) the knot's list floored me, too! lol. But it gets better, promise! = D
I love it! I can't wait to read more! You should applyto blog!
My fiancee and I are having a ceremony (with no legal binding because we live in Texas, although I still tell people we are getting married, but that's just semantics) in March. And in good queer fashion, we're honeymooning it in San Francisco. Yay! I haven't had a chance to check out your blog, Ms. Awesome, but I'll definitely do so from all the good words here.
I have to chime in as another vote for you to apply! I think you would be fantastic!
ms. awesome, you seem pretty fab. i love to hear/read about girls with style and cutsie pixie cuts. it seems i'm not alone. you already have fans and followers...including me!
I Love your Blog. My girlfriend and I are having a Commitment Ceremony Very Soon! Love seeing Lesbians stick together!
@ kewlkalm: Yay! I love seeing other gay couples around the bee!
Happy New Year to all! And double yay- it's almost the year we're all getting hitched! lol
Wow, your blog is aweseome, Ms. A. ;) I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us.
I agree with posters before - your blog is AWESOME! I definitely just got stuck on it for longer than is probably prudent (while sitting at work). Some of your posts made me laugh and one in particular almost made me cry at work (the WB posting convo). I agree that it's easier for people to 'lump' LGTB folks into one scary title, but it's much harder to do that when you *know* someone that fits the title. They have a life, a soul, a heart and all the things that make us human and one kind. Kudos to you for blogging your experiences – I hope it gives a face to some who haven’t had the privilege of some of the friendships that I've had.
I'm excited to read more about you all and your wedding!!
Congrats to you two!
(And while I’m straight, how can anyone NOT love two wedding dresses in a wedding?!?! Seriously!
)
Not a same sex couple here but yet ANOTHER lover of your blog!! Definitely apply- we are all apparently waiting for you to Ms. Awesome!! :o)
Apply to be a bee! I think it would be great (and eye opening for many!) to follow a gay bee! Love the blog!
ms. awesome, your blog is awesome. so much to look at and think about! :)
um, i just clicked over to your blog and i am already sold. apply now!!
@sweetpeaj -- I just noticed that yesterday. Indeed, go Martha!
Ms. Awesome -- I'm loving your blog.
I'm loving your blog as well....AND we are getting married on the same date!
Congrats!
I agree with everyone. Please apply to be the newest bee. It's important that our voice is heard, and you do it so eloquently. Your blog is freakin' awesome, like your name sake.
