FH and I are too shy to do the whole garter thing.... have you seen other things "tossed'? for the single men?

I feel the same way! I do not want to do the garter toss. I went to a wedding once where the groom just had one in his pocket and then tossed it. So it was still the same thing they just didn't take it off of her.

Hmm. What about doing away totally with the toss? The only thing I can think of for the guy to toss is his tie... if I think of a better idea I'll come back!

we're tossing a garter but he's not taking it off my leg! He'll just keep it or we'll slip it to him when it's time. I was thinking of attaching a lottery ticket to make it more fun and get more people interested and take away my personal icky feelings about it all. :)

How about some Super Bowl tickets attached to a remote control helicopter (controlled by the Bride, of course). Make those guys work for it!!!

Where did that crazy garter tradition come from anywyas? Not to mention the '"dollar dance".

We feel the same way...we are just not doing on. Not going to do the bouquet toss either. We are going to present my toss bouquet and a garter to the couple who has been married the longest (this will occur during the Anniversary dance)...where you play a few songs and have all the married couples out on the dance floor, and the DJ excuses those who just got married (us), then married 1 year, 5 years, etc...until the longest married couple is still out there dancing. I believe will be my grandparents. SO I have very excited about this moment.
