I went to Yen’s Bridal on Somerset.  They were really friendly and helpful and not pushy.

I too have heard good things about Yen’s (haven’t used them tho)

I have used With Love Bridal in Stittsville, and Sinders in Carleton Place over the years for Bridal, MOB, and other Formal Occasions.  I have been very happy with both.

Hope this helps,

@This Time Round:  I personally didn’t like Sinders.  I went on a Saturday, which is their busy day, but I felt that if you went in with a budget lower than any other the other girls in there, you were almost ignored until they left.

I went to Yen’s after there (suggestion from a friend) and they were great.  I was a little uneasy at first because the man who works there kind of creeped me out at first, but it turns out that he’s super helpful and friendly.  And the asian women who does the alterations (or pinned me anyway) was super nice and funny.  They also didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t want or need.  I didn’t feel pushed into anything.

@medbride:  If you’re curious about prices, I had a hem (a little more complicated though because of the lace and I’m pretty short so she took a lot off), a bustle, some cups added to the bust, and some boning (bad idea).  It cost about $250 and she said if I had been taller or worn heels the hemming would have been cheaper.  She’s blunt, it’s funny.

I’ve been going to Yen’s and its been a wonderful experience!  I agree about her husband being a little creepy when you first walk in but give him a chance because he is SUPER nice and very knowladgable.
