I used to have that problem. It helps if you are careful to avoid putting on too much, making sure you don’t use it right after showering, and never put it on just shaved underarms. But it does work.
i love that brand. it’s all i use. never had that problem. I would follow Cotton’s advice.
it’s possible you may be allergic to a specific ingredient in it. I had this same reaction to Degree, but I don’t have any issues with any other anti-perspirents or deodorents, that I know of. Physicians Formula deodorant is good if you are sensitive to some harsher ingredients.
You could have a slight chemical burn. Is it red at all?
What Cotton said–and if it burns/itches too much, try taking a day off. I used it for a while and it worked well, but then winter came, I stopped using it, and I apparently became immune. 🙁
I use it every night (for the past 5 or so years) every once in a while i’ll get that if i put too much on/i just shaved. I rarely shower/shave at night now, so it works out!
It used to at first. It still will if I put too much on. But I have sensitive skin. I actually apply Secret Clinical Strength, get ready while that dries, apply Certain Dri, finish getting ready while that dries, then another light layer of Secret Clinical Strength. It keeps me dry all day but doesn’t irritate me as much.
I used it in highschool and I had a little burning/itching for the first few days, but nothing after that. I put it on before bed at night and would shower in the mornings.
I think they actually recommend on the bottle to put it on at night/before bed so that you don’t feel the itching or slight tingling/burning (but if it’s burning burning or hurts, maybe your skin has a bad reaction to the chemicals). If I put it on at night and sleep, I don’t notice it. I don’t like using it 100% of the time, only for important events like interviews, fancy events, and I will for my wedding.
I used to love Certain Dri and used it all the time, and it would only burn very badly if I used it after shaving. However, it got to the point that it was burning and itching like crazy every time I used it. So I stopped. I still haven’t found anything that works as well 🙁
The topic ‘Ouch – anyone ever use Certain Dri? It hurts and’ is closed to new replies.
