Anybody else out there suffering from really bad carpal tunnel syndrome?  I know this is a normal thing in pregnancy but it all of a sudden hit me pretty hard a few days ago.  My doctor basically just said that I'll have to put up with it until after the baby comes and then it should (hopefully) go away but with 8 weeks left to go, I'm looking for at least some relief.  I've tried sleeping with splints on and that didn't help.  I've also got a ton of swelling in my feet, ankles and hands which may be making the wrist pain even worse.  Anybody have any suggestions?

Wow, I didn't know you can get it while you are pregnant.  I have it and I'm not even pregnant. I don't have it all the time, maybe like 3 or 4 times a year.  What I have to do to avoid having it is keep my wrist straight when I use the computer.  If I have it, I have where the wrist brace.

Wow, that would suck when I get pregnant.  It will probably be worse for me because I already get it.

@Trilby - I am sorry you are going through this! I don't have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome yet but I am afraid of having it since I work on the computer 9 + hours a day and I find that my right hand does swell more than the left during this pregnancy.

I am also going through the swelling of the feet, legs and hands. Mrs. DG can probably give better tips but make sure you drink lots of water, elevate your legs 3 -4 times a day (preferably above the heart), eat bananas ( I heard it helps), try not to sit for long periods of time but if you have to just get up and walk around once in a while. Also, ice may work. What about getting the wrist splints or something similar. You can find them at any drugstore / pharmacy.
