Happy anniversary! We didn't have cake for our anniversary.
Ours is next week, and not sure what we are doing. I want to watch our wedding DVD (from a friend, not professional) that we haven't watched (he is so not enthused), have a nice dinner, eat our wedding cake (there was a mishap- my sister just put it in the freezer with no wrapping, we didn't notice for a few weeks and my husband has gone gluten-free) so he won't, and dance to our first dance song. I'm a big celebration person; he isn't. I want to set a good precedent, because it's a big deal to me.
Congrats! I hope you have a fantastic time. Some girls have been planning boudoir photos for their first anniversary. Books are paper too :)
I like the idea of boudoir pics, but got the idea much too late for this anniversary. I might use this as motivation to lose some weight though!
Ours is in two weeks and I am expecting. I wish we had the time and money to go on a babymoon but alas, we need to be saving:) We are going to see the Cirque de Soleil show OVO at National Harbor, MD the Saturday night before and then we are spending the day in Annapolis on our actual anniversary.
Since we are trying to save some money, I think I'm going to get my loving husband this book I found that looks like something he would love to read. He's not a big reader, but if your husband is, I think a book is fitting for a paper anniversary!
Congrats ladies on getting through what people say is the hardest year!! Ours seemed to be much easier than some of our dating years, even with the shock of getting pregnant and not really planning that quite yet!
@guitargirl:You can DIY them if you have a remote for your camera! An afternoon at home taking pics, an evening printing them off and sticking them in an album - voila! :)
@littlemissmoo: great idea, but part of the reason I got this idea too late is I have gained weight (damn mirena!) and want to lose that first. I will probably use that idea when I am in better shape. Thanks!

Tomorrow is our 1st Anniversary (Sept.26) & boy does time fly.
I was just wondering how everyone was celebrating their One Year Wedding Anniversary?
We are going out for a nice romantic dinner tonight. & tomorrow we are having our family & bridal party over for a dinner party & attempting to eat our top tier of our wedding cake. (it's defrosting now & smells amazing)
Also are you exchanging gift & what creative "paper" gifts have you come up with for your first year?
I booked us a trip to Mexico for November... Tickets are paper, so that works. :)
